Wilderness State Park

Wilderness state park is great for campers of all sorts! They have a wide variety of camping options available from tent camping to RV camping sites. They also have a few great little parks within the park that you can stop along. Lots of pets and families. I really love the general store at the beginning of the park. They have hot coffee, rocking chairs, food, and any camping supplies you may have forgot at home. It's always a great weekend when we go up to wilderness!

One of the most beautiful places in the US. I camp here every year. If you're looking for a peaceful, scenic place to camp...look no further. This is a must place to put on your bucket list.

One of my favorite places to stay in Michigan. if you are lucky enough to get a waterfront space you not be disappointed. See the gorgeous pictures included in this review. It's a well put together camp ground, clean and well kept. Everyone is neighborly and respectful. The DNR, Rangers, and camp hosts are friendly an knowledgeable. it's a short drive to Mackinaw City so there is always something to do. It's location makes is frequent to strong storms in the July and August months so keep an eye on the weather. A word of caution, on heavy downpour rains, the road side camp sites can "flash flood" but dry out quickly. if you are in a tent, make sure you seal your seems, even if the manufacturer says they already are. Enjoy!

We hiked to nebo cabin and then continued on the another one . We hiked about 26 miles in two days. Nebo cabin was nice to stay at night for those who took the lower bunks not the upper ones. It get too hot. But Wilderness State Park was a great experience.

This is a great place to stay or visit. The view is great and some of the sites are on the beach. Enjoy.
