Tom Briggs, the former owner, is back in charge. He and Nina are great people and make sure that everything is handled well. The Wigwam is back!

They are belly up with the bank. Stayed there with reservations in advance, and they didnt have the courtesy to call us and let us know the restaurant and bar were closed. Unbelievable. Never again.

This was my second stay at this resort. My first stay was about 5 years ago ice fishing. The place was great, fishing was awesome, food was good, night life was even better! My second stay, not even close to the same. I called very last minute looking for a place to stay and they had rooms and cabins available so I booked it, I was excited to get there. When I got there at 5:30 in the afternoon on a Thursday (staying for 3 nights) there was no one there, I thought that was weird for a resort... I found a note taped to the wall with my name on it and directions on everything. The directions took me right to my room. Lucky the A/C worked good in my room because it was not in the resort and it kinda smelled. The rooms were ok, clean but very basic but the water smelled so bad in the bathroom. When showering or good lord you brush your teeth you wanted to gag at the smell of the water. This was not good being I had my wife with, we got through the next couple days but it was tuff. The outside of the resort is really looking run down and not well mantentined. The kitchen area was out of service, they were working on it and the bar was only open Friday and Saturday night. Nothing like I remember from 5 years ago. We did fish on one of their charter boats on Friday, this is when we found out the bank has stepped in on the resort and they have taken over? I guess that started to answer alot of questions we had about the place. However, back to the fishing, it was the best it has ever been for me up there. We caught our limits of fish in just a few hours. That was the best part of the whole stay. However just like the resort, there boats are run down and not every thing was working correct. The captin did clean all our fish and did a good job at that which was nice. We found ourselves spending all our free time at other places when up there. Didn't spend anytime free around the resort. At check out on Sunday morning, that was a whole another problem. At 8am in the morning of check out there was no one there, it was just like the place was closed up! This is a resort, someone should be around almost all the time. I had a long drive ahead of me and wanted to get out of there. I hung around because they had our fish in a freezer somewere and i wanted them. At 9:10am a guy showed up and got us checked out finally. Need less to say, I will not go back. This is too bad because this was a really fun resort 5 years ago. It all made sense to me why they had so many open rooms there in the end.

Fishing was slow the first day, and the second day was awesome fishing. Our guide, Eddie, was very knowledgeable and eager to get us on the ice. Wigwam resort was pretty nice place, great cabins, great restaurant food, beer, and prices. Only negative thing I have to say is the owner of the place is only about the money. Doesn't listen to his guides who know a lot more about fishing than he does. The place would get along 10x better if the lazy ass owner wasn't around.

We just stayed there the other weekend ...the cabin was kinda run down, but for an overnight it was okay. What really bothered me is that we booked the cabin for a bachelorette party and they didn't let us know the resort/bar was closed for the weekend. They ended up discounting our rate, but we were kinda sad that info wasn't communicated.
