This park is beautiful, and I visit regularly. It's an awesome place to hike-- there are tons of winding paths. I am mesmerized by all of the waterfalls throughout the hiking trails. When walking through Wher Nature Center, there is new scenery every week as the flowers change. You can get up close to Wildlife, and it's a great learning experience for children (and adults!). There is a large variety of birds that gather here, too, for all you bird watchers out there!

By far the best park I have explored in Milwaukee County. Massive grounds with the Wehr Nature Center on the south end. There is a $3.50 parking fee for the nature center, but you can also park outside of the center and walk through the trails to get there. Many walks of wildlife including barred owls, cooper's hawks, swallows, orioles, robins, and many more birds. There are some coyotes, and a high volume of whitetail deer. There's a deer trail along the Whitnall Park Creek that you can walk along! Beware of the three damaged bridges here though, as I highly advise not traversing them!

We always enjoy our excursions to Whitnall Park. In the summer, we take advantage of biking the Oak Leaf Trail, hiking through the trails of the Nature Center and, of course, the music and craft beer at the Sprecher Beer Garden. In the winter, we cross country ski at the golf course and snowshoe the surrounding area. The club house is open on the weekends (when there's snow) and you can warm up next to the fireplace with a hot chocolate or beer (this is Wisconsin), a snack or a sandwich. There is also a sledding hill next to the club house. All in all, a great place to spend some quality outdoor time.

Whitnall Park is just a great area to visit, golfing, Archery, hiking, winter fun is all here. The greatest secret the Milwaukee County Park system has is the WEHR NATURE CENTER, located off of College Ave. Hiking trails, educational programs for our youth and adults. Programs are offer on weekends like: Cider Sunday, Repitle Days, Bug Days, Maple Sugar Days all enjoyable events that you can learn about Nature and how we affect the environment. Stop by and talk to the staff about Nature.

Our favorite family place. They have the gardens which you can get in other ways besides having to pay the fee. I personally think the fee is a little high, however I know it costs money to keep up the beautiful park. The wher nature center is our all time favorite, trails are kept up very nice, people are always nice, and respectful. They have excellent programs for both kids and adults. They have the tobaggan run in the winter, the free sled Hill and then of course the golf course too.
