It wasn't busy, and service was fast and friendly. The meal was well made, with fresh veggies and nice fries. However, if you order the Steak Frite, beware! Do you know what "Cali Cut" means? In reality here anyway, it means HALF a steak! I thought I ordered a Strip Loin with Fries, but ended up with a teeny, weenie piece of meat! I questioned this with Management, and they threw the waitress under the bus. Said I should have been informed that it was only 6 oz not sure it was even that!. I've been a server, and was NEVER instructed to downplay / defend the menu. Management is responsible for making it clear on the menu, not the servers.
Went with server recommendations: short rib buns and gyoza. Solid choices. Short ribs were tender. Gyoza was crispy. The starters were received for free as part of my stay; otherwise it’s a hard to justify the price. Personally apprehensive about hotel restaurants. Value prevents this from being 5 stars; service was good. Unusual to see a party occupy an entire side of the restaurant on a Sunday night, speculating that it’s part of a wedding reception.
We came here specifically for brunch at about 1030am. They were just closing up the buffet breakfast for hotel guests, so it was a bit loud. We were handed breakfast menus to order from, which while offering a limited selection, seemed decent. Food arrived quickly, was hot, and served on warm plates love when restaurants do this. The presentation was great, the taste was solid 4/5, and overall we were satisfied with the meal. Servers were polite, friendly, and attentive. One in particular was really great, and was the entire reason for our 25%+ tip wish we had gotten her name to shoutout here. The letdown here at Wayside Social at the Toronto Airport Marriott was ambience. Being the lobby restaurant also used for hotel guest breakfasts, I understand the need to maintain some utilitarian design, but it really doesn't make for a warm and inviting restaurant space. Which is too bad, because otherwise between solid made to order meals and pleasant staff, at a reasonable price point, this would be a great breakfast spot near the airport. P.s.: Thank you for serving real maple syrup with pancakes Parking: Parking for Wayside Social is free at the lot in front of the hotel entrance. Just drive up to the automatic gates it captures your plate, and drive out within two hours.
Our flight ways delayed, we stayed at the hotel. We were there from 6 to 10 ordering appetizers and desserts and wow very impressed clean menu. Shrimp Gyros Bruchetta French onion were delicious and the warm apple crumble mind blowing we had 2. Talk about being treated like royalty Esmirna the lady running the show bar went above and beyond for us during a heartbreaking time waiting for our flight the next day. Thank you so kindly. Time we'll spent. Michelle & Jeff
Just absolute horrible service. 15 minutes without even a menu. Then a white couple comes and sits next to us, and of course within seconds they have menus and they get service shortly afterwards. My wife got up to let the staff know twice, and each time she was told "staff will be right with you". Instead the server went to serve the white patrons first... We just left
We ate here when we ended up staying at the hotel for a night after our flight was canceled. We really enjoyed the restaurant. The service and food was very good and tasty. I had the bacon cheddar burger with fries it was very tasty. We also had calamari for an appetizer and it was also very good. I would eat here again if in the area.
This hotel restaurant has the best breakfast buffets in the area. Yum!Food: 5/5
This place was truly phenominal. Sharon, my server, was polite, inviting and truly went out of her way to make my experience pleasurable. The food was amazing, I had the braised beef burger with Caesar salad as recommended. It was to die for. For desert, I enjoyed the molten lava cake with Bailey's ice cream. Cannot rave about this hidden gem enough.
AMAZING FOOD AND SERVICE! We drove down from London to try it! It was our first time here and the Indian food was delicious. The service was even better.
My party and I had ordered pizza under the what it had said "Handheld" menus that included a choice of fries, salad, or sweet potatos. They did not inform us if it was going to be an extra charge of $5 for the sides when it clearly said that the pizza was under the handheld dishes on the menu. If we knew it was going to be extra fees, then we would not have selected it. We asked to speak to the manager and he just walked pass us and didnt even acknowledge us or talk to us and went on about his way. They did not have good customer service.
