The Westford Public Library was originally built as the Town Hall, with the intent of it being used "as a suitable place for holding town meetings" in 1844 for a total cost of $522.64. In 1895, a stage was added to the Town Hall, which now hosts the children's collection and play area. The building was painted red then, and a story shorter than it is now!
