We are the public library for the Town of Colchester, VT.

Story

Burnham Memorial Library is the public library for the Town of Colchester, Vermont. The original building was constructed in 1942, with funds bequeathed by Mrs. Etta Burnham. The library is located down the road from Claussen's Greenhouse and Union Memorial School.

The staff here are wonderful, knowledgeable and helpful. The volunteers really take the cake and host a variety of events (and a great book sale!). This has been my library for about a decade now, and even though I am unable to stop in as much as I'd like, this is an excellent place to go. They have a great selection of audio books (both in CD, pre-recorded MP3 players and online through Listen up Vermont). This fits my more "on-th-go" lifestyle now. They also have a good music selection as well. There are public computers on sight and a great resource center. I personally love the language references! Oh... right... I'm forgetting about all the wonderful books! That's because this library has so much more to offer than just books (and they do have a wide selection of books)! Edit: I forgot to add that you have the ability to check out, renew and reserve books online!

Very nice little community library. Most people have to drive to it, but its a very comfortable place with higher ceilings, so it seems bigger than it really is.
