Absolutely fantastic experience. The food was simple, delicious, and inexpensive. It was like stepping into the 70’s. The owners had spectacular banter and were clearly a well oiled machine. The chicken club and the chicken fingers were QUALITY, and you better get yourself a milkshake cause they were amazing. If you don’t know the deal you get a menu and write your own order on a slip of paper and bring it to them and bus your own table at the end of the meal. It was a really lovely experience and a Halifax MUST.
Great little dinner. I had the fish and chips. Batter on the fish was nice and crispy and fish was flaky. The fries were crispy and fluffy. Gravy was a nice add on too. The price was excellent at $8 for a 2 piece. I'm going back soon to try the bacon cheeseburger and fries.Food: 4/5
My first impression of here, was old school. The place you dream of going to. Husband and Wife operating the business, giving it the mom and pop shop vibe, you know you're going to get the best food of your life. Prices were not what I expected and I believe it's because they don't have staff to pay, which makes your jaw drop when you see the generous plate for such a low price compared to other places. You grab a menu and write down your own order which helps them continue cooking orders to perfection. They praise everyone for the business and company, showing they genuinely care for the people. I can't wait for my next visit to try other things on the menu! Kid-friendliness: Booster seats available for little ones. Owners are always cheerful with the children. Parking: I was told there was no parking for the business, you have to park on a side street. Wheelchair accessibility: No wheelchair accessibility.
A classic old school diner. Burgers, fries, onion rings, club sandwiches, etc plus sundaes and milkshakes. Prices are very low, like they forgot to raise them since the 1980s. I had a cheeseburger fries and rice pudding for $8.35 including tax. I asked the lady whether there was a mistake in the price and she said 'no'. **UPDATE** I've reduced my rating due to cleanliness issues saw a mouse wandering around the dining room. I think the place needs a bit of a refresh honestly.
Open Tuesday to Friday from 11 am to 6 pm. I could go on about how great the food, value, and old school diner atmosphere is but I wouldn't do it justice. Just go, you won't be disappointed. Get the cheeseburger with onion rings and a milkshake to initiate yourself. Best club in the city and the fish and chips are great.
Very friendly family run diner with delicious food and a throwback look to it! Love eating here and can't wait to get back. we got there a bit late but they still served us and gave us some good conversation!
A husband and wife team that work very well together. There's a bar with little round seats as well as bench seats or seats that you can slip into. They have a menu if you want to look at it, but you just write what you want on a piece of paper and put it on the bar area or give it to them. They usually have 3 specials a day. The are super nice and since we go frequently they are always wondering what's going on. I usually get the Poutine and let me tell you it's a giant plate! You definitely get what you want for cheap $, but it's not cheap food that doesn't taste good!
I love this ma and pa restaurant so much. It truly is a hidden gem. Large portions, very affordable and they make you feel at home Vegetarian options: I had grilled cheese and onion rings!
Delicious home cooked food & milkshake was to die for. The fudge is a must try! Phenomenal prices. Our meal was under $20 and service was amazing.
This place has consistently been an excellent place to come for food. It's nostalgic decor and cozy seating, paired with low prices and tasty dishes, mean that the Westcliff is an amazing choice for individuals or small groups craving quality. The staff/owners are super friendly and so quick too! They definitely contribute greatly to how friendly and cozy the place feels.
