Both the turkey soup and western sandwich had bones in them. The beef and barley soup had absolutly no beef, just broth. The waitress was trying to refill offee cups but no one was wanting it. Without a doubt the worst coffee and meal I have ever been served. Felt sorry for the waitress. I am sure it was her first day there. This used to a place to get 'feel good' food. Never again.
Wait staff was friendly and nice. Food was OK at best and the place needs a remodel. Very old and outdated. Plus a mouse ran by.Food: 2/5
Amazing food. Great prices and drinks are always on sale throughout the week. One of my favourites for sure.
I have been going to my cousin since I was 12 years old our whole family loved this place family from away come here and this is the first place we would take them. Tonight my husband and I went for supper there I will never go back I can't believe how bland the food was the bread was so thick it soaked up all the gravy and the hamburger was so dry it was hard to swallow. My husband had the hot turkey sandwich the potatoes were like thick chunks and the turkey after he ate a bit was dark underneath and it smelled sour the veggies were frozen and you could taste it Very disappointed and we won't be back. I'm sure there are new owners because I know Peter would never let food go out to customers like that. I should have known something was wrong when going in we were the only ones in there and it was at supper time. Don't waste your money going here.
Got steak and eggs, ate half and one of the many flies went into my food. I said I'd pay half and they said no. So basically paid 26 bucks for half a plate of food because apparently they think its normal for people to eat food that had flies touching. No manager to talk to, absolutely terrible!!!
Server was not familiar with menu. He did not view entrance advertisement that gave full meal listing of additives. Monday 29th. Food was great... Parking: Great space behind building off Robie for parking.
Small out of the way place in North end Halifax with a great taste. Nice Greek offerings as well as standard meals. The dessert was great. Recommend a visit
Called at 7:25pm to place a pickup order, store closes at 8pm. They answered the phone and upon asking if we could place an order they said no, we closed 5 minutes ago. A 7:20 is an odd time to close. B don’t advertise that you’re open until 7. We live nearby and were looking forward to trying them, but now they’ve lost local business.
Been going to Cousin's for breakfast on and off for many years and it tastes and feels like home. A jewel in the crown of North End Halifax. Their Greek dishes are WONDERFUL! Also, this place has THE BEST home style breakfast you will find in peninsular Halifax at prices that are hard to beat. Do yourself a favor and try it if you haven't.
I have been going to this restaurant since the late 90s and after 24 years of satisfaction, I am disappointed with Cousins. I know that inflation and the current economic situation from the pandemic makes it extremely hard to run a restaurant, however I don't believe that big compromises are worth the risk of losing a good reputation to save a few bucks. I ordered the pan-fried haddock dinner and was disappointed that a meal that went from $13.95 to $17.95 had instant mashed potatoes and vegetables that came from a frozen mix as the sides when they used to serve real mashed potatoes and freshly cooked broccoli and carrots. My friend ordered the moussaka and it tasted like something from a nursing home when it used to be the best moussaka in town imo. The waitress was lovely but the food is no good anymore. It's sad to loose a good restaurant while it's still open. I won't be coming back.
