Story

West Park Lanes has come along with the times since we opened in 1946, adding computerized scoring along with updated bowling equipment to our many services. We also offer a clean, happy atmosphere to make your visit a pleasant one. With an on-site ‘60s-style diner (Fil’s Diner, opened in 2000) and an Irish pub (Daniel O’Connell’s, opened in 2002), we are pleased to be a one-stop facility for wholesome family dining and entertainment at its best.

Had a singular bad experience here and will probably never try to go back. We booked an event almost 2 months in advance for people coming from out of town, we were given shoes and a lane but then told to leave after being there nearly an hour. There was a Bachelorette party who was given our lanes and were making a big fuss. They wanted 3 lanes, so we were told they would get our lanes because they double booked. The place was packed and so disorganized, it looked like 2 people were working and there were dishes everywhere. After we cleaned our own lane of the discarded crap from the previous party, we left there having not played and not given compensation.
My family had a good time, but the place shows it's age, plus it is seriously understaffed and price was not as expected. We had booked a couple of weeks ahead, but that doesn't seem to matter. It was noon opening time according to Google but there were already groups there and by the time someone came to the desk to help us waited several minutes, they never checked for our reservation.nnWe were given our shoes and said we wanted to play an hour, they said ok we'll put you in for three games. This took about an hour and a half in reality. The lane was semi functional, we spent a lot of time having to retrieve the balls from the return lane as they were not coming all the way back. The game was harder than necessary because the wood needs care so it's bumpy and the balls did not go where desired if you didn't put in enough speed my 12 yo daughter leaning the game was disappointed by her score partly due to this. Many of the balls are old and damaged as well missing chunks.nnWhen came to pay, we waited at the shoe desk for no one to show, and someone rudely saying that all payments are at the bar/restaurant counter. They could put a sign up if that is standard... Finally the price, wow. For 3 people, 3 games over 1.5 hours, it cost over $75. I have no idea what I paid for, how it was calculated. My partner paid for me, but didn't ask for any details and even left a tip.. so it cost closer to $90. Well considering the work we put in to make the game work getting the balls back, I feel robbed. No paper towels in the women's bathroom also, and considering it was the start of their day, just shows you they are not taking the best care of this old place or putting in effort for service, but they could sure take our money...
I have been here many times and have had fun on each occasion. This is not only a great place for a family outing, but also a good activity to go out with friends or work colleagues.nnFor those who have not come here before, the bowling venue is connected to a diner, so you can order from a full food menu. You can also get beer and non-alcoholic drinks. On our latest outing, my family got a basket of fries, quesadillas, and veggie nachos to share.
We definitely had a great time during each visit! They seemed to be under staff though as I noticed that the same person behind the bar was often also in charge of the shoes so it could definitely take a while to get a drink or shoes during busy times.nnArriving early is a good idea to make sure you are all set up before your game starts. This is a great place for kids and they have a device to assist the younger ones with the bowling ball. 3 different colours of bowling balls and the green one is the lightest, which is perfect for kids to carry.
The place is super old and the whole set up would break multiple times during our two games. There seemed to only be one guy who worked there and he seemed very busy but he sorted us out when we needed him.nnGood vibes
