A community institution for over 30 years, Walkley Bowling Centre has 30 five-pin lanes with completely computerized scoring.

Great promotion for kids bowl free during the summer. Register on-line, pay for the shoes only kids $1 and adults $2 and get two games free everyday during the summer. You could also pay a small fee for a family pass that covers up to 4 adults as well all summer until Sep 30. For the smaller kids there are plastic dragons and other animal shaped ramps to help them roll the balls down the lane. Good 80's music if you like that sort of music. Kids had a blast. There is also pub for the adult drinks and an air hockey table as well. Five pin bowling is harder than it looks.
fun time there today - my friend organised a fund-raising event and our family took advantage. We hadn't been bowling in years - nice staff, good times; fun lighting. Bar on the side so you can have a drink and I think they get food in from Milano's I saw pizza boxes, so loads of options for a great time. thanks to my friend and Walkley bowling! - edit: oh my gosh see the response from the owner! Glow In The Dark Bowling was super fun!!! It gets busy, so the earlier the better. Bartender is willing to make whatever drink you want, providing they have the ingredients!!! No fresh juices. Lanes are in great condition. Very friendly staff. Good times!!! #localguide
We had the “Kids Bowl Free’ pass for last summer. There were some peak times, but we never had to wait for a lane during the day. The pass is a good idea and is defiantly worth it if you go. The Centre however could use some updating. There is a particular aroma to the bowling area that is not just shoe leather spray, and the food area looks sketchy. The bar area is very dark - too dark - and we rarely saw any one go in it o stay. Some of the food however was really good, but both over priced and very much dependant on who was cooking and knew how to cook predominantly frozen items - which was often the same staff that was cleaning the restroom, handling the shoes and running cash register. The restrooms were decent, but could use some odour removal products. The lanes and tables were clean and in good shape. The carpet needs to be replaced or given an extreme clean and the organization of material on the walls needs a fresh look and updated palette. The staff are mostly fairly young kids and the turn over seems to be such that as soon as a kid gets some experience and confidence, they move on; they could really do better in terms of staff and management. Overall the Centre really, really needs to be updated and the staff need a reason to stay there, but if you are just there to bowl and use the lanes, you will get what you pay for.
The people working there are amazing. I have anxiety and accidentally went on a busy night and then guy at the cash was so nice and accommodating, letting me take a lane further away from people. I love that there are specials on different nights, it's so fun to go on Thursdays disco night and Tuesdays 2 dollar games. This place has the small balls which I personally love as I find them easier to bowl with. I had a great time here tonight and I'm planning on coming here much more often. I would really recommend this place!
I have to admit I wasn't expecting much walking in there but what a great place!! Kid friendly, our three year old had a blast, they have these plastic dinosaur slide like objects to assist the kids when they bowl and everything was clean and well maintained. We had a lot of fun as a family and would recommend to all!!!!
The staff was quite friendly, and the drinks are reasonably priced, but the facility is really in need of a major facelift. We went in a group and had fun, but everything is quite run down. However, it is one of the sole choices for bowling in the area, and it is not too expensive, so if you really need to knock down some pins, there is no reason not to go here.
By far the worst place to bowl. Went for a Christmas party and the lane malfunctioned. The man working there had to fix it five times before changing our lane. Once our lane changed it also didn't work. My team waited 45 minutes for all these errors. The man was not polite and kept telling us we "didn't tell him that" when we did a clearly didn't listen. There was no politeness, in fact there was attitude and almost that we were inconveniencing him. Best part is after it was finally fixed, we played for like five minutes before we were timed out. Went to play two full games and played one, and then two rounds.. most time spent waiting on corrections and getting attitude. The only nice part was they do make a decent Caesar. Wheelchair accessible, washrooms are disgusting. I realize no one walks into a bowling alley expecting the Ritz, but this was disgusting. Entire venue had an odor and staff were clearly unhappy.
Don't even know where to start... I NEVER ever complain but this is ridiculous... We paid for 2 hrs birthday party for my kids, the place was empty for at least 1,5 hrs but our game got suspended twice because kids play slower and they took extra ten minutes. The main guy there was saying that he " doesn't care how things go cause it is a birthday party" and he "doesn't have to host". I'm... Weird. He was very snippy with kids as well. I asked for water for group of kids and the very nice lady gave me a pitcher full of water and cups. While I walk to the table, that guy literally runs to me, grabs cups and pitcher out of my hands saying: " No! It is mine! I am supposed to pour that at the bar!" And takes off... Ok, so I go there and apologize, saying that I was given it by his staff. He replies: " Oh, that girl? Nah, she is stupid, she doesn't know anything, that's only her third day here!". Wow. We had three pizzas jammed on two plates, some pieces were missing, the party room bathroom was so filthy, that kids did not want to use it. I never like to stir up drama but this was my last first and the last birthday party there... Ever.
Went on family day for a afternoon of fun with my 6 year old. Waited in line forever which was understandable since it was family day but what wasn’t understandable was paying full price to be put on a broken lane and the. To be told there’s nothing they can do and they knew about it all day. How do you treat your customers like this. To know your lane is malfunctioning and still out customers on that lane especially without telling them and still charging them full price then brushing off the complaint . My 6 year old was disappointed when he bowled his first strike and it didn’t count on the score board. Crappy experience and even worse customer service
