The place is amazing! We stumbled upon this restaurant as we were driving through Red Deer. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was great! It’s also well priced. It has a nice rustic and unique feel to it. We will most definitely be back!
The food was delicious and presented very well. My kids are picky but they loved the desserts. Great first impression and the service was excellent.
What a gem in Red Deer! Great food and cozy atmosphere. Service was also top notch. Highly recommended. Even grabbed some jam and coffee on the way out!Food: 5/5
Very interesting location with beautiful natural habitat all around. Staff are extremely friendly. We went there for Mother’s Day brunch and were the only ones there during time of covid and right before restaurants were about to close. Our server started a outdoor fire pit for us and we were provided with blankets for the chilly weather. They have hammock chairs to relax in around the restaurant. Food was good. Want to go back there to try the regular items on the menu next time!
The Westlake Grill has some of the best food available in Red Deer paired with great service and a warm, relaxing, and romantic atmosphere. We love the local meats and produce on the menu, along with the unique and delicious desserts. If Yak is on the chef's special, get it!!!
I had a the bison rib eye for 79$. Was only okay. Nothing amazing. Bison was cooked uneven half was medium well-done and the other half was rare and tasted like curry not in good way. Potatoes are deep fried, the taste of old vegetable oil and overly salted wasn't a good experience. Carrots were borderline undercooked and the asparagus were bitter. I would say same quality as any casual dinning earls, moxy but double the price. Would not call it fine dinning.
We stopped at Westlake Grill at the Hudson Ranch by Red Deer. What a gem! Lovely setting to start and amazing food. Fresh flavours, well seasoned food. I had the wild mushroom omelette. Portion size is large. I’ll have enough for breakfast tomorrow. Served with whole-wheat toast and homemade Saskatoon preserves. YUM! And smashed Yukon gold potatoes which were a reasonable potion and not half the dish. We’ll come again on our way through.
We celebrated our daughter’s grade 12 graduation last weekend in the Heritage room and adjoining covered deck. WHAT AN AMAZING venue, high quality food, and excellent service from first contact to planning this family event through to the end of our night. Five+++ stars really. Thank you Westlake Grill for a truly special and top notch experience.
Delicious food! Romantic atmosphere with lights and heart-shaped bowls and tables for two. My wife and I were served by a friendly and attentive waitress and enjoyed a splendid date night here.Food: 5/5
Went specifically for Valentine’s Day- the 5 course meal. It was $189 per person and decided to go out for a nice dinner. First appetizer wasn’t even the size of my finger nail, second appetizer was one scallop each, the soup was okay- but nothing special about a tomato soup, the entree we got was waygu- most of it was cartilage or fat and you got one carrot, one piece of cauliflower with it, and a spring roll with potato in it. Dessert was a small cake smaller than my child size hands. Speaking to other customers they got missed in order and waited longer than other couples that came after. Also, wouldn’t advise to go unless you like to sit less than 1 ft away from the other tables. I don’t usually leave any reviews, but was expecting way more for $189 a person.
