To be honest , we weren’t too sure what to expect when entering the store after having read some negative reviews. However, my wife and I were very impressed by the wealth of knowledge and practical advice provided by Zoe who patiently guided us through the process of choosing and comparing everything from strollers to car seats. She had a great sense of humour and the whole process was very relaxed. We did not feel pressured to buy anything, which was much appreciated and will definitely be returning for our future baby equipment needs. Thank you Zoe!
My favorite baby store. Love the variety of products and brands. They have everything a baby can need which is great if you are looking to support a local business instead of a big box store or Amazon. They always have many staff on the floor and they are pleasant and eager to help. Technical knowledge however has sometimes been hit and miss. The after-sale customer service was excellent. Highly recommend.
We were assisted by Cecil and his service was top notch. He knew more about strollers than anyone I’ve ever met. Had the perfect mix of knowledge, customer service skills and yet never made us feel uncomfortable pushing for a sales. Really incredible service ! We are adding everything he recommended to our Babylist; it really made us love our experience at West Coast, especially as the large selection can be overwhelming for new parents. He’s a gem and the shop has everything you can need!
West Coast Kids is the worst retailer I’ve ever dealt with. I purchased an infant car seat—an essential safety item—on December 1, 2024, expecting it to ship within the promised 3-5 business days. Instead, they failed to ship it for nearly three weeks and repeatedly misled me about the status of my order. What they don’t tell you during checkout is that many of their items are dropshipped directly from suppliers, not shipped from their own warehouse as advertised. For those unfamiliar, dropshipping means the retailer never actually handles the product, which often results in longer delays, poor communication, and a complete lack of accountability when things go wrong.nnBy December 9, the car seat still hadn’t shipped. Despite multiple calls and emails, they refused to provide a refund or acknowledge their failure. I was forced to purchase a replacement on December 11 to ensure I could travel safely with my child. They didn’t ship the car seat until December 20—19 days after my order and only after I escalated the issue with PayPal.nnTheir customer service was equally appalling. Representatives and managers were dismissive and unwilling to help. One even hung up on me when I asked for a callback. They refused to refund the order, even when presented with clear evidence of delays and misinformation. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, avoid West Coast Kids.
We have had numerous issues with this store.nInitially, we ordered a set for our nursery and we discussed with the individual taking the order that we would need the items shipped separately as the crib was back ordered. He failed to note this to the manufacturer so the dresser never shipped. They also failed to tell me that the dresser was out of stock as well. We ordered a glider that came stained. After a scheduling error on their part we finally received a new glider but it took two months to receive the stain removal spray that we purchased because they kept forgetting to provide it. The manager offered to drop it off herself and then didn’t and went on vacation. We are not dealing with an issue of having been overcharged on one item as well. I would recommend ordering online or through another store. All of my concerns were basically ignored until I emailed their main customer service line and got in touch with the regional manager. Vanessa completely ignored my concerns and failed to update me throughout the process. It’s been a huge headache especially given that I’m less than two weeks from full term and still do not have my dresser to organize my nursery.
