This practice is despicable. My father has been seeing the same doctor for 15 years there. He suffers from mental health issues and the office manager does not want to deal with him so she lied and said he had too many missed appointments. There is so much more...I believe this practice is cherry-picking their patients and placing my dad's life at risk because they have refused to see him for over a year about a lump in his chest. They keep saying they won't make an appt for him until he goes to the ER and gets a referral. Yet this is his general practitioner. It is hard for someone with mental health issues to start over with a new doctor that they haven't had a history with. Instead of being understanding or compassionate about that, this practice is practically slamming the door in the face of a long-time patient. Shame on you!!!
I, and one of my daughters, have been patients of Dr. Schultz from Wentworth Health Partners, for the past two years. At each encounter with Dr. S, we found her demeanor to be 100% clinical, zero % empathic, and inappropriately and unprofessionally judgemental. Other reviewers who reported similar experiences with her seem aligned with my feeling that anyone with serious mental health issues should steer clear of her as a their primary. At the very least, she seems blind to the connection between mental health issues and physical conditions, At most, she is outright prejudice. I do not believe that she is, or ever could be, an effective medical provider for that reason alone. I did not see any other physician at that practice and chose to seek medical care elsewhere. Side note: there is a woman named Rufus who reigns in the front desk area. Don't take it personally if she comes across as irritated with you and treats you as if you are invading her personal space whenever you check in. I did have good experiences with any of the nurses who attended me and the administrative staff who conducted the check out process.
There is a heavy amount of gate keeping by the nurses. They have never answered the phone, always claim that I’ve never left them a voicemail, and they ignore my portal messages. One of the times I did get a nurse to call me back she *screamed* at me for not knowing how to navigate my prescriptions which was extremely inappropriate considering I was learning how to manage ongoing care and did not actually know what to do and needed help. I have been trying to get them to fax the appropriate paperwork to my medical supplier for two months now and at this point it seems that they are willfully doing everything in their power to not help me get the care I need and are continuing to not respond to my messages. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with the health care industry.
Have used Strafford Medical for years and have been very satisfied. Currently seeing Dr. Restituto Malonso. He is extremely thorough, very attentive to patients' concerns and questions. Entire staff is very accommodating and pleasant to deal with.
The absolute worse. The practice manager should be stacking shelves not dealing with patients. They can't even get Medicare paperwork done in a timely manner. Leaving you without prescriptions. The pharmacies have trouble with them all the time. If you have a medical issue stay clear. No compassion whatsoever. I waited moths for a referral and finally gave up. And if you try and get help from patient experience at WDH they don't care either. This practice violates their own patient rights...
I called at 8 am for my husband. I explained that my husband is elderly, immune compromised and had spent the previous night coughing. I needed to know what was recommended. Could he have covid? Should he come in? I was told someone would get back to me. Two days have passed by and I still have not had a call back! This negligence is totally unacceptable.
First, after reading reviews from those who rated 1 star, the old adage came to mind; "The Doctor is only as good as the patient". Granted, there ARE some substandard practitioners out there, no doubt. But what these particular patients seemed to have in common came across in their writing skills. They don't seem to be very intelligent. Now I am no genius, but IF I were to give anyone such a low rating, I certainly would do a better job with an explanation! As for me, I have had nothing but positive experiences at this practice! But then again, I arrive with a kind & positive attitude, myself. The check-in/out folks are both professional AND very kind. The on-call nurses are spectacular - always returning a call w/in 24 hours, IF unavailable. And if unsure about a medical question, will check with your Provider. Which, lastly, leads me to my Provider, Donna Pare. I have never, in my 60 years, had a better PCP. Donna is intelligent, well-rounded in her medical knowledge, and her interpersonal skills are top-notch. I feel more comfortable talking to her than some of my closest friends! And what is most important in her style is that she actually cares about ALL of you; your body, mind & soul. She understands the relationship and impact of your parts that make up the whole! Donna deserves six stars out of five. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
I have been a long time patient with this practice, and have never had a "bad" experience. In fact, even after moving out of state, I kept Dr. Malonso as my PCP. After years of my husband receiving sub quality care at various other practices, I finally convinced him to try this practice. He continues to be amazed at how well and responsive this practice operates. Requests for referrals are completed that day, as well as, any new or renewed prescriptions are called in to the pharmacy without delay. I have never felt rushed during any appointment and all my questions have been answered by Dr. Malonso. He offers suggestions without any pressure. My annual examination takes about one full hour.....which always amazes hubby as his previous Docs never even touched him! The office staff are always pleasant, courteous and efficient. Phone calls are always returned without delay.
I chose this practice with confidence BEFORE reading these reviews, so this is a genuine encounter. My mother is Dr. Kimberly Marble, and used to be the Plastic Surgeon for Wentworth Douglas Hospital but decided to stick with York and Exeter Hospital. I decided to go with this practice due to loving WDH, where I had my son and my mother used to work, but this practice is horrendous. I initially called to be diagnosed with ADHD and did not even want medicine. It felt as though the doctor diagnosing me had no clue what he was doing, and then gives me Ritalin and never returns my calls. I felt I was on a medication I did not know anything about with zero support, then my actual PCP, Nick Tolentino who is absolutely amazing, took over and I felt comfortable. Now, COVID has kept Nick preoccupied and he has not been in. I went to re-fill what I had been on for 6 months, Ritalin, and was then told I needed to come in and meet with Dr. Shultze. No big deal, right? Now this is where my experience becomes awful, she is the one who told me to come in and yet had no clue who I was or why I was there. I waited forever for her to come into the room and when she did she barely said hi and made little to no eye contact as she was reading my chart. I brushed it off. She went in on me for almost 30 minutes angry I was there for Ritalin that the practice gave me without me even asking, and then she was the one who forced me into the office. I was there to say I didn’t want to be on it anymore but she never gave me the chance. She kept telling me she was worried I would sell it or become addicted, and then literally says “I don’t know if you have a High School diploma or not...” Now, for the record, I have my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and come from a very educated family hence my mother being a Plastic Surgeon so I have no clue if she literally thought I looked that young or if that was a dig at my intelligence. Either way, I am almost 28 years old and I have never been so uncomfortable during a doctors appointment. My mother knew her when they were kids and was shocked by my encounter. Do not go to this practice unless you are seeing Nick, I am mortified. Not to mention you can never get ahold of anyone.
I've been working on getting a referral sent to seacoast dermatology and for some reason this team can't pull through. It's been over a month of going back and forth with incomplete information and still nothing. Go somewhere else. You would expect them to know what needs to be sent over, it's not my job to babysit them.
