Wellington Health Care Alliance - Palmerston and District Hospital

well considering what I have been there for I have to give them credit for being patient with the situation. They have always been fairly good considering the location and available resources. It's a town of under 10,000 and I can't remember any wait time longer then 30 min. In and out is usually the case. I'm sure they have had their bad moments as we all have. I can sympathize with the lady who had her anus roughly probed by the doctor on staff. I'm sure he wasn't overly happy to hurt you or even have to probe an anus. It was probably Dr Dan who looks like the big heavy guy "Hurley" on that show "lost". Good ole Dr Dan who looks like he snuck into the hospital and put on a doctors coat cause he sure doesn't look like your average doctor.

No compassion at this hospital!!!! I support mentally handicapped individuals and the lack of respect and compassion is unexceptable! After a full week of testing at toronto general for severe copd to be put on the lung translantl list my mom was admitted aug 14. She had phnemonia and was extremly weak.she was expected to usr a commode and i asked the nurses seversl times to have a cathter inserted so she could rest. No result! I adked for a more comfortable pillow and the nurse was rude. My mom adked to get out of bed to a chair and the nurse said she would have to do it on her own. On the third day i brought in an extra chsir and the nurse told me i couldnt. That nigjt my mother fell out of bed onto her head....resulting into a concussion and broken wrist. My father wasnt called and they took no responsibility for this.they said they had a bed alarm was their answer. Then why and how did my mother fall out of bed? Still with no catheter she was probably attemping to usr the commode on her own! Hours after her fall she went into a comma and her breathing was extremly laborded and it broke my heart. Becsuse of these events as a family we made the decision to let my mother go as she suffered enough and she didnt want to be this way. My mothers stay and last few days were not taken with care and compassion. She passed away aug 17 and it sickens me how she was treated. If i had only known these events would have taken place i wouldnt have left her side!shame on these nurses for their lack of care and compassion....just a job with a paycheck. Missing my mother margerate elizabeth gadke....rest in peace. Love barb reid

Send you away! Because their under staffed! Every time I"be gone to this hospital I get send away to a clinic because they have no doctor actually at the hospital. The nurses are mostly crabby and unsympathetic. The food is Gross!

I went into Palmerston hospital, for serious diarea, know i spelled that wrong.. anyway I was already ashamed.. and stressed about my problem the Dr on call was not only an ignorant man, cant even remember his name, anyway I'm still having pain from him playing target practice with my anus.. I had told him I had this problem for 2 weeks .. was he gentle in checking me NO HE WAS SO ROUGH.. I am still having shooting pain because he jabbed his finger into my anus so hard I screamed out in pain... I won't go there again unless I'm on death's door sad sad place to get looked after
