No way to call directly to make a child immunization appointment, The extension in the website direct only to a voice mail, and they call back from a privet number that was blocked by our phone. The receptionist extension doesn't work.
Decided to book my second booster now rather than wait until the fall. Too many people are getting covid and it has been six months since I received my first booster. I checked online first. I found it really hard to nagivate the site and when I got to the pertinate booking online page I found out that you could only book online if you were five to twelve years of age booking the first or second shot. I then decided to phone. The site said you could phone from 8 to 5 to make an appointment. I phoned at 8 and the extension number said it was not operating but I could leave a message which I did. I then decided to try our regular pharmacy and was able to make an appointment for the next day. As soon as I got off the phone much to my amazement the Health department returned my call...thanks so much for doing that....really appreciate that! pharmacy
Not too long ago I had a public health concern with a retail establishment, and sent in a report to public health. Wendy Briggs answered the query. Wendy is an outstanding public health inspector; she went out herself and had a look, and provided a detailed follow-up that was much appreciated. Wendy's professionalism was way above the call of duty, and even though this issue was serious, it's clear she had the right intent in managing it appropriately. Wendy should be training others in how to do this job. I never thought I'd be leaving a five-star review for this kind of thing. Way to go Wendy.
Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health is great. The people who work here have helped me out on many occasions and have always been wonderful.
So have tried to book my booster through here for 2 days now and the system will not give any days available for vaccine for at least 2 years. The system doesn't work yet I see them on the news every couple of days saying get your booster. Maybe should spend a little less time doing PR and maybe get things working properly. Have tried to call and just get disconnected constantly. Not sure if it is because we don't pay enough to hire professionals or what the reason is for this kind of failure.
Registered online and was not able to book a dose, was never sent a booking code even though I was eligible. Received the dose elsewhere and was told to call public health within a week to book the second dose. Once I had navigated the phone system took around 15 mins and finally got through to someone they said to book way in the future and they couldn't book and did not have me in the system. No way to add me to the system so I have to call back in 12 weeks. The person was not very helpful and quite rude. The part that is driving me crazy is that there is no urgency. I understand that doses are limited, especially in non-hot spots, but as our representatives in Guelph, they should be pushing for more doses. They should make it very easy to book second doses, whatever the region you got your first. They should put all efforts to getting everyone fully vaccinated as soon as possible.
Complete joke / disgrace of a system. Website is horrible and voice call is no better... call here or here ... it was IMPOSSIBLE to book a booster shot. I had more support going to pharmacies than our actual health unit. Maybe they are under funded / staffed or a broken system but it's going on 3yrs and at this point I would have expected a smoother better system. Do your self a favor go to Loblaw's website and use their tool to fine Booster options.
Had difficulty registering online but called & left message. Call back was timely & I was able to book an appointment at that time. The vaccination programme is new & I think we should expect glitches along the way. When I did go for vaccination at at Alder Rec Centre site in Orangeville, it was well organized and staff was very pleasant. The people waiting for shots were joking & chatting. I would like to thank everyone involved for your time & efforts. Be patient & respectful people. We’re all in the same boat and if we work together we can hopefully row it to shore & get back to normal! Thank you!
Nothing lower than one star? WDGPH is back to the clown show with boosters. Booking online goes no where and just says "not confirmed please call"... of course no one picks up the phone... ever. Not available on weekends or after 4:30pm. What a joke. You'd think after 2 years in a pandemic they'd have their act together. Utter incompetence.
Sad to see all the low ratings based on unavoidable difficult times for public health through COVID-19! Came here to comment that I came to this clinic very upset. Everyone I met here was kind, informative, friendly, and helpful. The healthcare worker I spoke with gave me all the tools I needed to move forward, engaged with me with respect, got me the treatment I needed, and told me to take care of myself. Thanks to the team, this past year can’t have been easy! Thanks for your care in a tough moment.
