Weko Beach Campground is really nice. My Sister and I rented one of the Cabins and it was nice also. It had one double size bed and one twin bunk beds. They were comfortable. Bring warm clothes too during the summer. It got very chilly at night and we weren't prepared for that. Only thing we didn't like was they don't have enough bathroom/shower facilities. We had to either drive or walk quite a ways to go to the closest facility near our cabin. They do provide outhouses that are closer though. There was a good fire-pit and picnic table. Bring your own firewood or buy it there. Cost was $7.00 per bundle. The beach is really beautiful, white soft sand and waves like a real beach, especially further down to Warren Dunes State Park. Made me feel like I was back on Maui. If you have a dog or dogs, there is a dog beach at Warren Dunes. No cost for parking either, but be prepared to pay for parking at Weko Beach. All in all, it was a very serene and fun time at Weko Beach Campground
I camped here about a month ago. The spots are very close together, especially on the south portion of the campground where we were staying. The east and west parts seem to have a little more space, but not much more. I did not like the fire pits either. They were tire rims and you could move them wherever you needed to. So there were piles of ashes in places where people previously had fires. The only thing that makes this campground worth the stay is the beautiful beach. If you are camping, you can either drive to the beach parking lot in which you need to pay, or you can walk up and down stairs and walk to the beach. The beach has a little building with restrooms and concessions. Overall, Weko Beach is beautiful. The campground, not so much. The beach does make it worth the visit though.
Beautiful place for sunset. We recently camp there, and if I have to book again, I would choose either east or west campground, better location and privacy, closer to shower and bathrooms. Showers were not all working great but usable. Our highlight was walking along the shore and the sunset.
Stayed one night in 9/23/22. Beach is nice but campsites are a complete dump and look so sad. Collapsing railroad tie walls, sites on top of each other, dead ends with no way to turn around. There are multiple campers living there full time and the place look like a homeless encampment. Private septic pumper came while we were setting up and pumped out one of the full timers. This is a public campground run by the city. They need to clean this place up and pay for some improvements. Would not go again.
Weko Beach is a popular destination in Bridgman Michigan. Mostly for beachgoers. But it does have some awesome stairs and trails to get stunning views of Lake Michigan. Bathroom and food facilities open in season as well as camping. Abuts up to Warren Dunes State Park for additional hiking trails if that’s what your looking for. Must pay to park during the season.
Absolutely love it here! Camping was awesome! Beautiful place and very well maintained. Staff was awesome!! 3rd time camping here. Visited on other occasions. Can't wait till 2023 camping season.
I stayed at this campground for a weekend. Every one I interacted with working at the campground was nice. The people camping in the area also were very friendly. The bath houses seem to be cleaned and kept up with many times throughout the day. Many of the sites seem to be seasonal sites. The proximity to Lake Michigan at Weko Beach is a plus. I do have a few tips. Pay attention to the sites when reserving because they are all different sizes. The second thing is there is only one dump station. Be aware you may have to wait.
stayed on the loop without bathrooms 0/10 would not do again also no water to refill water bottles or rinse off sandy shoes. close walk to the beach which is beautiful but know that there is 0 shade at the beach and it stays light outside til almost midnight so it was hot hot hot. we were lucky that we were sleeping in a repurposed SUV because i'm not sure a tent would have even fit in our site it was so small and crammed together to the next ones. we had two nights booked but left after the first because it was miserable.
The beach was great but the campgrounds were very, VERY cramped, no grassy areas very dusty, staff was not very friendly or helpful, police stayed there looking for tickets to write for people who didn't pay to park at the beach. Very unwelcoming vibe there from both LEO and staff. Will not be back. You may enjoy the beach but be sure to pay if you park!!
The campground located in very nice surroundings, close to a super nice beach, but campsites and bathrooms are dirty and lacking maintenance.
