Story

Company History

Originally RTM Division and the Home Centre was founded by David Holst and Frank Remai in 1984 in the small town of Warman, Saskatchewan, approximately 16 kilometers north of Saskatoon on Highway 11. Since then the business has grown from a small lumber yard and RTM retailer servicing our local market employing approximately 15 employees to a diverse self sufficient business that reaches all parts of Western Canada.
From the beginning, RTM Division and the Home Centre were strictly created to offer a high quality product to a growing market. It quickly grew from its beginnings as a lumber yard and Home retailer to include a full retail store.

Business expansion and growth became a reality for the RTM Division and Home Centre in 1990 with the first expansion. Being the visionary that David was he had an idea to start a self sufficient business model, establishing different individual divisions that would supply the other.

In the early 1990’s they established a second home centre location in Dundurn, Saskatchewan and established a neighboring Metal Shop in 1994 that since then has relocated to Warman and continues to manufacture metal roofing and wall panels.

As business volumes continued to increase David expanded further with the development of the Truss plant in1998. Over the years the plant quickly grew to be one of Saskatchewan’s leading truss plants fabricating and manufacturing roof and floor truss systems. With four additions in 2000, 2005, and two in 2013 our plant has more than doubled in size from 14 800sq feet to just over 38 000sq feet.

In 2000, Frank Remai passed away and David Holst became sole owner of what now encompassed Warman Home Centre, Warman Homes (RTM Division), Warman Metals and Warman Truss. At that time he decided to move the business from Dundurn to Warman and expand.

In 2006, construction of the new Warman Home Centre began. The new retail store and lumber yard was to offer the same products and services that our customers have been come to depend on, but in a much larger setting. The location of the new Warman Home Centre was established right across the street from the location that our customers have been visiting for over 20 years.

The old location became the RTM Division or since 2006, named Warman Homes. In 2009 David Holst took on one more expansion creating Warman Cabinets a cabinet design and manufacturing retailer that once again could be utilized by his other businesses.

Allowing David to move on to other ventures In 2012, Golden Opportunities Fund Inc along with seven long standing executive management team members were pleased to announce the purchase of Warman Homes Centre including the partner businesses Warman Homes, Warman Metals, Warman Truss and Warman Cabinets under the new business name Warman Home Centre LP.

Customer service and satisfaction has always been a high priority amongst our staff. Warman Home Centre LP proudly employs over 200 individuals, all of which, work hard every day. They continue to earn us a reputation of quality and integrity which has been the foundation through our continued growth and success.
