Story

Thank you for your interest in Walnut Hills Family Campground, we have something to offer almost any camping style. We have RV sites with water & electric hook-up, primitive tent sites, cabins and also Seasonal Sites. During those hot summer months you can relax on our sandy beach while the family plays in the water which includes several rafts, volleyball net and a slide. Walnut Hills Family Campground is on the Shiawassee River with a livery service on site. Have a group? We have special rates for you! Centrally located between many major cities, Walnut Hills Family Campground is your solution to fighting those high gas prices! Loved camping here, we were there on their Halloween weekend, had lots of activities for all. Pumpkin painting, hayrides, trick or treating. The campers decorated their own sites, some had "haunted campsite" walkthroughs, was truly amazed at all the work these campers put in at decorating their sites. Will definitely go back again.

Fantastic Family Campgrounds. Nice swimming lake, Several playgrounds, Clean showers, Great staff. We had a blast! Will definitely come back.

Used to be a great campground until the owner let her son take over. The office staff are rude and not efficient, be sure to steer clear of Joella. She will make mistakes and blame the customer. Absolute disaster for such a great park. We've been coming to Walnut Hills for 35+ years and won't be back until the owner makes some management changes.

We had issues with nosey campers in the beginning that watched our every move. They let us move to a cabin and that changed everything. The people that camp by the cabins are so nice and greeted us s soon as we got out of the car. Great staff!!

My husband has been coming here since he was a little boy. I like that it's close to home, but still feel upnorth. Nice showers, they keep the swimming area clean and the pit toilets. I come back ever year. Now we are starting our own tradition with our grand kids.
