I have actually found the online system really good and the response rate has been sufficient. Once you get used to it it's actually pretty quick to complete. Hope this way it cuts down on people seeing a doctor when really they don't need to and can self medicate or the doctor can give advice on what to do next. The doctors I have seen this year have been brilliant very helpful and I have been referred to the appropriate place and support with efficiency. It's not perfect but they are working with what they have got and I appreciate it. X
Not providing any service at all. My GP has sat on my repeat prescription request for 4 working days and after I have now run out of medication, is uncontactable via phone or online forms. Surely approving a repeat prescription is a two second job? Letting patients run out of antidepressants is also irresponsible as abruptly stopping them can have very negative side effects. I would rather take my chances buying my medication on the black market than deal with this surgery.
I have loved this practice but the last two times I’ve had to phone for a 90 year old I’m a career for then I’ve been waiting half an hour. This is mid afternoon not a busy time in the morning. She has no internet access and I really worry how old people without a career could access the system or get anybody to answer the phone. I found all the waiting stressful and I’m not 90 years of age. Please get more people to answer the phone for those of us who don’t have computers or the time to wait for lengthy periods
The new e-triage system is so helpful if you are a busy person and can't spend ages waiting in phone queues. I submitted my problem and the GP called me back really quickly to discuss and write a prescription. I had a problem with the prescription at the chemist and when I went into the surgery the receptionist was polite and really helpful and the prescription was resent within minutes. I have found the GPs compassionate about my mental health and other problems. A bit hard to get an appointment soon for routine things, but I'll be using the Klinic system in future if I feel I need to book sooner than the available online appointments as it seems like it works well.
Worse GP practice ever. Impossible to talk to someone over the phone, let alone to see a GP. The new online system is horrendous: now doctors send you a text message with a diagnosis without having even seen the patient! Unbelieavable. What are we paying our taxes for, if this is the kind of service we get?
I have been registered with this practice since childhood. Appointments can be limited but have the ability to go to Stannington Surgery when appts are available there and not at WMC. Reception staff are helpful and friendly but limited by appointment availability which is beyond their control. GP and Nursing Staff have always been professional, approachable and supportive when visiting for myself or when family members have needed support.
I have multiple long term health conditions and the doctors and nurses at Walkley House/Stannington have always gone above and beyond to help me. I can’t fault the care I’ve had over the past 3 years.
i submitted my problem and the doctor refused to call me back. the receptionist called me instead and she gave me 2 options, the first option was an appointment after one month and the other option is to accept to be seen at Stannington medical center after 2 days, i accepted the second option because i had three prescription before over the phone for the same reason without being seen by the doctor ,now i feel my problem is getting worse, However I live closer to walkley house medical centre. but I need 40 minutes travelling by bus to reach Stannington medical centre on time
I have for 3 years since my stroke which rendered me not exactly 'gouse bound' but unable to walk up my very steep street I have been able to phone in a repeat prescription every month to be delivered. Excellent service, really appreciated. Phoned last week and was told no, you are neither over 80 or house bound. I pointed out that this was usual. The receptionist said " WELL PEOPLE LET PEOPLE LIKE YOU GET AWAY WITH IT BECAUSE IT IS EASIER." I'm am an on the ball educated woman who can stand up for herself. I was upset but got over it. To speak like that and I remember her tone to anyone who could be vulnerable and/or alone is not acceptable. TRAINING people, TRAINING
Since you can now only book online appointments, which is a long and stupid procedure, which asks stupid questions, I will no longer be using this surgery, getting an appointment is very difficult, it was bad enough before it went to online appointments. I have been at this practice for 50 years and it's just gone downhill. Very dissapointing
