The food here is excellent and beautifully presented. The dessert especially was wonderfully shaped and hand crafted with impressive skill. Prices are a bit on the high end but was disregarded at the taste. This is definitely a hidden gem in Canmore.
What a treat. Hidden gem inside a garden Center. Authentic Japanese tea and cake. Other dishes are great for lunch as well. The Japanese mochi cake were made fresh. Amazing experience to watch how they were made, it’s like watching an art show. Strongly recommend!
Very cute restaurant inside the greenhouse that also sells desserts and various meats/fish. Food was delicious and flavourful. The matcha tasted high quality and it was nice they had non-dairy options as well. They only have a few tables available, so I suggest going on a quiet morning or booking in advance. We were given both menus but only able to order off the same one, which we didn’t find out until some of us wanted to order from the breakfast menu and some wanted to order from the lunch and then told we could only choose one menu. It seemed there was only two staff at the time, so our wait time was longer than expected, but the food still tasted amazing. Would like to go back to try their desserts or matcha ice cream.
I loved this place! Just discovered it and will definitely be coming back. The food and presentation was beautiful. I love the harmony of the light Japanese food with the environment of a green house. We ordered the tuna poke bowl and the Buddha bowl. I love that they have so many vegan options for myself. I tried their matcha latte with oat milk and it was incredible. We also did an oz of their yuzu wine and it was super yummy. It’s better than a limoncello. I couldn’t recommend this place enough. The desserts looked incredible, but I don’t believe their is a vegan option.
Such wonderful owners! We preordered the neikiri, got drinks, tried the food and icecream. A bit pricey, but nothing too crazy for Canmore. They also have a lot of serving ware, fresh fish, and japanese beer for take home. Loved it, and will be back for brunch. you MUST try the matcha soft serve and daifuku mochi.
Picturesque restaurant hidden within a garden centre. Service was attentive, atmosphere is amazing with views of the mountains would love to visit again on the patio in summer, the matcha tasted very authentic/high quality, I got the salmon benny which was delicious, really liked the hollandaise sauce. Only complaint is that the poached eggs were too overcooked. My medium poached was more a hard poach, not runny at all. Not an overly huge deal to me, but might be for someone who is very particular about their poached eggs.
I could rave on and on about this place due to how great it was. The meal was so fresh and beautifully prepared. The staff were so kind and welcoming. The location within the garden centre really sets the ambience, and for a summer day the sun/weather truly wasn’t overbearing. The dessert was hand-crafted with such a modest presentation. The paired matcha tea wrapped up the experience beautifully. Wagashi Tea House will be a Canmore visit talking point for years to come.
We found this Gem within walking distance from the Blackstone Mountain Lodge. It was a bit tricky to find but it is located inside the garden centre. I was little skeptical when I saw it was located in the garden centre but it did not disappoint. There is some seating inside and there is also seating outside with a view of the garden and the mountains. They had the sable fish bento box as a special and the fish was perfectly cooked and was delicious. The bento box was the perfect the portion size. It had everything from rice with black sesame, vegetables and a salad. We also got iced kuki cha green tea. This tea was so good I actually bought the loose tea and took it home. The waitress gave me instructions for hot and cold brew. The salted caramel chocolate tart was so good! Not over sweet and a nice texture. The pie crust was perfect and really complimented the tart. The passion fruit creme brulee light and airy with a nice vanilla bean flavour. The caramelized sugar top layer was thin and brittle. Also the fruit was a nice addition to help cut the richness. We enjoyed our lunch here and would come back again in the future. A hidden GEM!
Have dined multiple times and never disappointed. Friendly and passionate staff and absolutely delicious food! Waffles are the best I’ve ever had and the Eggs Benny combo options allow for you to create your own experience! Reservations recommended
Ate here today and was incredibly impressed! Delicious and authentic Japanese food with a gorgeous view. I will definitely be back. The salmon bento was amazing. Still dreaming about the sauce!
