Waffle Bird

Is there anything better then Chicken & Waffles? This is the new restaurant that took over the Dangerkat Waffles location, located in the back alley just off Whyte. Once in the alley you can’t miss it, it’s a very bright colourful building. I had the Angry Waffle Bird which is their spicy chicken. I didn’t get the full spice because you know getting older and heartburn, but the regular spice was very good, spicy but didn’t blow out my pallet. Waffle Bird is take out only very small location, but what they lack in size they make up for in flavour with their food. I would also suggest calling in advance to order your food for pick up as I waited 20 minutes for my food they definitely gave me a heads up about the wait. Strongly recommend anyone checking this place out. Great people and fantastic food.

The chicken has an almost karaage flavour, the waffles are the best I've ever had. They mentioned that they set the dough with the iron and then do a round of deep frying. The flavour profile had an exceptional savoury flavour that pairs really well with whatever you order. The coleslaw was light on the mayo which is my preference, and also light on the vinegar which I would have liked a bit more of. Either way, it pairs as a nice green with the heavier flavours of the chicken and waffles. The thai peppers on what I ordered were clearly freshly chopped and were not overdone. A solid 9/10 from me dog.

Maybe it was an off day because the pics look different from my delivery order but it was quite possibly the worst food I've ever spent money on. It had the weirdest smell, oiliest waffles I've ever seen or heard of in my life, dry chicken with some weird thing on top of it, fries looked dark like fried in old oil. WORST FOOD EVER. had a hunger headache so had to eat some. almost puked with every bite. Had to force it down with a drink.

So good! I can’t wait to try the waffle pop and dessert waffles. Definitely going back. The fries and chicken burger were so good!

Absolutely delicious, the chicken is soft and tender and incredibly juicy. I had the Chicken Toes which almost melt in your mouth, and an Angry Bird which had a little bit of kick without being full-on spicy. The house-made sauces are what sets this place apart- love the cluck sauce especially!

Got the angry bird sandwich and fries. The food was okay, nothing to write home about. Chicken was really dry. Fries were overdone, or maybe the oil just needs a change. Sauces were good, and a nice amount of heat. For price not worth...

Delicious! Very friendly staff. Chef was very helpful. The best chicken and waffles! Loved every bite. Will be here regularly
