This place is a bit of a hole in the wall, with no interior seating. Apparently they'll be moving to an indoor food court for most of the winter. The waffles are good but messy, with a good selection for a variety of diets except for gluten-free. We tried the pulled pork and the vegan mashed chickpea. Both had stick potato chips on top for extra crunch. Two thumbs up!
I work downtown in the Oxford building which is in Edmonton City Centre where the Elevate Food Court is. So to get to my point DangerKat Waffles has a pop up restaurant there. I had never heard of this restaurant before and was not sure what to expect. I mean my experience with waffles is you put syrup or strawberries and whip cream on them. So to see a menu with pulled pork or chicken or vegetables on a waffle was mind blowing to say the least. I am happy that I decided to eat here because it was amazing, I had the pulled pork waffle, it tasted delicious, the waffle was fluffy and held together really well. The waffle is folded in half and stuffed with pulled pork, coleslaw with cheese and pickle and topped with crunchy potato fries. Who knew this could be so good? Obviously DangerKat knew. On a side note, what’s in a name why DangerKat? However the name came about I don’t know but thanks for expanding my mind about waffles.
We came here today because they were giving away free waffles for the first 25 customers, and I had been wanting to try them for a while. They are tucked in behind Whyte Ave on 81st avenue but easy to spot because of the colourful wall art. I really liked the curry chickpea waffle; it had great flavour, and the hickory sticks gave it a nice crunch. The waffle didn't get soggy and contained everything nicely. The majority of the waffles are savoury but they do have a few dessert waffles that look good too. I'd like to come back to try the bananas foster one. The guys running the show seem super nice! Give them a shot, they just reopened for the summer season I believe.
Got strawberry fields and ham and Swiss. My daughter didn't like hers and mine was ok. Was expecting more, we came back from the other day cause they were closing 20 mins before the advertised closing time of 8.
I was looking forward to trying their waffles since they opened! Great place with great service. We were the only people there and it took a bit to prepare the waffles but they were worth the wait. I wish they offered build your own or just fruit and powdered sugar option in case you don't have that much of a sweet tooth! I had the Strawberry Fields without the Nutella spread and loved it!
A fun and different experience! Great food, good vibe with all the art!! Vegan/Vegetarian option was delightful, chipotle steak waffle was very good, sauce was amazing!
You haven't experienced waffles until you've tried the food here! There is something for everyone here, doesn't matter if you're vegan, vegetarian, or omnivore! Sweet or savory, your taste buds will thank you! Service was great, staff is friendly, and the space is exceptionally cute!
Went here on a whim and it was worth it! Got the special they had going this day jerk chicken it was absolutely killer! Flavours were awesome and they weren't skimpy either, well worth the $12. Also waffles were perfect! Not too crunchy and not too soft :-. The dessert ones looked amazing too but will have to come back another time to confirm.
You know when you want a waffle, but want something much more than just a waffle? Yeah, go here. The Vegan Smash Chickpea waffle was incredible. So flavourful, great texture, and definitely worth the price. Also super friendly staff. 10/10, will go again.
Wonderful place and wonderful art! The vibe is super cool and the waffles are even better. Got the Thai chicken and the strawberry fields for my daughter and we loved it! Definitely will come back.
