This is a decent walk-in clinic. The only frustrating thing is that they can't refer you to a consistent one-on-one counsellor, which alot of us need. Idk if it's because we have to pay for them in BC or not. Some counsellors are good, I've spoken to one whom was amazing. Others don't listen to you at all, when you say you hate group therapy and they refer you to group therapy, like I told you groups make me anxious. Other than that, the psychiatrist part is very good, quick and efficient.
Dr. Wiggers is a wonderful human being. He makes me feel heard and safe. He’s empathetic and sympathetic and supportive. Very thankful for his help.
I would not recommend OR use this clinic . I brought my daughter in as an emergency and none of the counsellors would see her because she had one extremely unusual symptom of COVID. Terrible they should be ashamed. If I could give them less one 1 star I would.
Their psychiatrist Dr. Wiggers is just an incredible human being. He is so nice, is a good listener, and genuinely cares about his patients. Also the people at the front desk are very nice as well and they genuinely care about the patients too.
I went in during a crisis state hoping to access services. I met with an intake nurse who instead of offering empathy or support decided to cling to a miss diagnosis from 10 years ago and essentially told me I couldn’t be helped until I helped myself.... my issue was in regards to historical sexual assault that I was having a difficult time processing;hardly something that can easily be helped by someone lacking helpful coping mechanism. I recommend if anyone needs help they go to the hospital or seek support from other avenues.
I had an appointment with one counsellor and got someone else. She told me to "drop the attitude." What attitude!! I was in crisis! She listened to my story and then told me counsellrs were for people in crisis. This person is in the wrong job.I felt more troubled than when I walked in.
Very unprofessional. They hurt my partner and made her feel like because she wasn't on the verge of suicide that her problems were not important. She ended up hurting herself over it.
Seriously frustrating and sad. For people with serious mental health begging for help and following the process...they sure act like it’s not a big deal. It’s like they don’t understand mental illness at all. They don’t answer phones or call back. Drop in counsellors say you need real help and they can’t do much but it takes months to get an apt. They make it so much harder on people who are already trying so hard and asking for help : Our system is failing.
1 hour max parking, and it takes about an hour to get in to see a councillor. Something doesn't make sense here. If there was an option for no stars, that's what I would have chosen.
