I’ve been getting my nails done every 3-4 weeks for the past 4 years now and bee had I ever had to go back to get my shellac’s redone before the 3 week time was up. This is the 4th time I’ve bern to this salon and two out of four, my shellac’s have come off within less than a week! The first time I was too busy and didn’t bother to go back for them to fix it. I’ve had bubbles under my nails right after the mani was done and they started lifting from where the bubbles had formed on the third day. When I called them on the 5th day, I was told that I can go back since it’s less than 7 days and they’ll fix it for me. I went back the next day which was the 6th day and was treated as if they’re doing me a favor. I was told it’s my nails not their shellac and shellac may have different outcome on different nails! I’ve never heard this excuse and have never had this happen to me at any other nail salon. The manager, Gene, was very condescending and instead of being apologetic for wasting my time, having to go back after only 6 days to get 8 out of 10 nails fixed, she told me it’s the last time they’re making this ‘exception’ and they can’t ‘keep doing this if it happens again’! I’m sure I’d never go there again to experience this terrible service and to have to waste my time to go back again in less than a week to fix their mistakes. Lesson learnt! Always read the reviews!

I went to Vida Nails & Spa, just under a month ago, to get my eyebrows waxed and to get a manicure. The manicure never happened. I made an appointment to see the girl who I first saw, a month prior, to get my eyebrows waxed. I ended up making an appointment with the owner, Gene. BIG MISTAKE! HUGE!! I had a Bar Mitzvah to go to that evening and was depending on getting my services done there. Not only did she arrive almost 10 minutes after my scheduled appointment, she waltzed in and came over to me. No apology, no friendly greeting, stoic looking and terrible garlic breath and hygiene! I could barely breath! Shouldn't that be something that you'd expect from a place like this? I wouldn't even give this place 1 star, but needed to rate it somehow. I'd give it a -50 out out 50! Terrible customer service! I had asked her about the discount that I thought I'd be getting off of my services and had misunderstood how it works, but all she did, was yell at me and argue with me, while I lay there, getting my eyebrows waxed! REALLY? IS THAT WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ALL ABOUT? I THINK NOT! I had asked for some help choosing a colour to go with my outfit, but no one cared to even come over to help me. Gene then took me to the back room, to first do my eyebrows. She was going to proceed to wax my eyebrows, WITHOUT EVEN WASHING HER HANDS FIRST! DISGUSTING! VERY UNHYGENIC!! GROSS!! I then asked if she could please wash her hands first, before proceeding. She wasn't too happy about it. No acknowledgment. Nothing. She went behind the door to wash her hands and I'm not even sure that she even used any soap, she washed them so quickly! She then came back with wet hands and proceeded. After several attempts to get the shape right, I had to ask for her to please even the left brow with the right brow. I had to ask her twice! After several attempts and aggravation, I then got up to see my left brow, uneven! She had also left just one hair at the very end, which looked funny and not right. The right brow was fine, but the left was not! She totally ruined it! She then told me, "you don't pay and you leave my Salon now!", which in turn, I said to her, "you have a terrible attitude!" Being that she doesn't speak hardly any English and probably didn't understand what I was saying half of the time, who even knows, if she knew what I had just said to her! So, I walked right out, right in front of everyone, (Clients and Staff), with my head held high! I was beyond upset and it took everything in me, not to say more. I left like the lady that I am and with class. I waited until now, to post my review, as I needed to write this review, in a calm manner, which I was not at the time. I then had to find another place to do my manicure for me and found a wonderful place on Avenue Road, near Wilson. I ended up seeing my old manicurist there, who I went to for 10 years, some years back and never knew where she had gone to. Now, I can see her again and if this didn't happen to me at Vida Nails, I would have never known. I try to see the positive out of situations, if I can and there was definitely, a positive outcome, AFTER leaving Vida Nails. She certainly RUINED my afternoon, but NOT MY EVENING! I WOULDN'T GIVE THAT POWER TO HER! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO EVER GO TO THIS PLACE! THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!

I've been going to Vida since I was 5 and every time a get an amazing pedicure, manicure or massage.

Owner and employee incompetents and bad manners. They are not professionals. Not recommended.
