The hotel is cheap and good. It is in downtown and it is so good if you want go for a walk, there are a lot of restaurants close. Employees are so friendly. My room was the cheaper and it is good enough even if it is small. You have to share the bathrooms but it is not problem because they are always clean and you can use the shampoo they have available. I think they have rooms with their own bathroom but the price is more expensive. It does not have elevators so you have to carry luggage up the stairs. I recommend it if you want to save some money it is really good! My stay was pleasant, thanks! :
Enjoyed my stay at this heritage hotel. Rooms were nicely appointed, clean and modern. It's a walk-up building but I personally appreciate having to use the stairs. The staff were friendly and helpful, check-in and check-out was a breeze. This hotel is ideal for solo travellers or couples, as the shared bathroom rooms are on the small size. The shared bathrooms were very modern and clean, I really liked them. No issues with them being too busy at most times. For the value, it's a small inconvenience I didn't mind. The building is in a great location close to the Skytrain and within walking distance of a lot of things Downtown. There's a few good coffee shops and restaurants/bars just a few blocks away. The one and only downside is that being a heritage wooden building there is little soundproofing when another guest slams their suite door or stomps around like an elephant. You can also hear what's going on outside, whether it be a delivery vehicle in the alley or street disorder. I recommend ear plugs and the hotel has them available. If you're okay with that I highly recommend checking this place out for short stays, it's great value!
I stayed solo in one of the shared bathroom rooms. Very comfortable and the provided robe was perfect to get to the shower and back to my room. Bathrooms were kept very clean at all hours and stocked with hand towels. Concierge held my bags at checkout so that I could explore the city comfortably before my afternoon flight. Would definitely stay again. Would not recommend for families with littles... Too many stairs and it's not the right vibe. Great for solo or couple vacations. Rooms: Clean, cozy, and every room has a slightly different vibe/furniture. Nearby activities: One block away from the central Vancouver Public Library which is worth a visit with gorgeous architecture and a lovely rooftop terrace view of the city. Safety: Front door is locked at night and must be accessed with key card or buzz in by concierge. Walkability: I walked to the convention center every morning and back every evening of my 3 night solo stay. Lots of cute cafes on route. As a solo woman, I felt safe in the neighborhood as the streets were always bursting with life.
Great historic location with quiet, well-appointed rooms and excellent service. You’ll hardly notice the shared bathrooms situation because even that is an easy system and the bathrooms are sparkling clean with great showers! They even provide luxurious robes, a sink in each room and an Nespresso machine. Best low cost, high quality stay in the city!
I have stayed here twice now. This is by far the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed at. The staff are friendly and went the extra mile on little things to make us feel at home. Central location in downtown Vancouver makes it easy to get around, and the old brick wall accents are gorgeous!Rooms: 5/5
Loved the room I had, friendly staff. Their parking was full and the only other option was a parking they had contract with which was 4min. Not ideal but given the location, makes sense. Room was relatively large, clean and I liked the whole ambiance of the place. Was build as a hotel at the time of gold rush.Rooms: 5/5
On my way to Toronto I was stranded in Vancouver because of airport shutdowns. I was one of the lucky ones who managed to find a hotel to settle in while I waited to see when I could leave. The check-in process was smooth and room was very classy. What really did it for me was the staff. They were some of the friendliest staff I have ever dealt with in the hotel industry and accommodated anything I asked no matter how big or small. The staff looked genuinely happy to be there and Sylvia went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. Thank you guys for helping out during a difficult time!
Amazing stay prior to our Alaskan cruise. Great location, walkable to Gastown and the many restaurants there. The rooms are fantastic and the hotel is full of character. Very friendly and helpful staff made our stay! Highly recommend!Rooms: 5/5
I don’t know what this is other than a hostel. It’s smells like urine and they have a shared bath. There is a hole in the wall of our room. Everything is old because the building is old, which fine.. but they laid these old gross carpets through the halls that smell of urine. I feel like I’m on another planet. This is ok for maybe young teens visiting the city. It’s 100% a misadvertised hostel. We left and stayed at Hyatt.
I booked this hotel through travelocity. I didn't realize in the fine print of this hotel's description that the room was for shared bathroom and i paid $225 for it. Also you have to carry your bags to upstairs because there is no elevator. When I came back to my room at night the room wasn't made either. I will not book this hotel again. Stay away from this place.
