Living here was/is an excellent way to experience the DTES for it's actual use by the government to marginalize anyone who does not fit into the "pro-social" model they expect of people in Vancouver, B.C. Rooms: Roach infested Nearby activities: DTES is skid-row Canada Safety: Get your own Noteworthy details: Cell blocks 2 and 3 located here on second floor and the third floor.

Surprisingly my friends place is actually cool and cozy. Strangely he found a bathroom hidden behind drywall that wasn't listed in the lease however he has it now, shower and all!!Rooms: 4/5

I went to the New Grand Union pub yesterday ,What a difference ,The bar itself looks better than it has in the past ,Doesn't look old or drab on the inside ,New hardwood floors ,,But ,there are still some of the old Bar stools that have been there for quite some time ,They could use some new ones for sure ,and takes, Other than that ,,,its alot nicer to sit with friends and enjoy there company ,with that old stale beer Smell

The building is way over priced just a small room THAT only cost 750$ with HASTINGS RATS/ Black mold infestation within walls warning if breathing issues the entire building has no heat n can get very cold basically like being outside if u don't own a space heater xxx 13 year air conditioning stuck in window within plexiglass n plywood the bathroom is even worst if lucky enough not plugged with fecies but there are very good hearted people jus down on luck in the economy so if u don't mind n can live with all that than its great family almost building but the price is ridiculous needs a health expection

An adventure of true cultural significance

The last time I was in the grand union bar it had a friendly type atmosphere the live music was exceptional for the area its located in at hastings and Abbott streets the bartender was pretty busy but overall he seemed to be very polite they way he handled the customers definitely a professional manner overall I definitely recommend the grand union bar for a fun night out in Vancouver.
