Vero's Chef Jenny believes strongly in the importance of fresh, healthy food while supporting the local community and strives to create flavourful inspired cuisine using quality ingredients sourced from a variety of trusted local producers, Remarkable starters and plates designed fro sharing are offered along side hearty entrees, such as the house made pasta, grass fed beef, seafood, lamb, chicken and duck, with many gluten-free options available. Featured small plates include Truffled Edamame, Baby Calamari Frito with romesco and the Signature Sweet Potato Gnocchi with wild boar bacon and gorgonzola, as well as more substantial offerings, such as the Surf & Turf Platter, Spring Creek Grass Fed Rib Eye Steak, Bouillabaisse, Steamed Seabass with lemon risotto and "The Seafood Platter". Top quality food and service. The ambiance consists of muted lighting, moderate and pleasant background music. I do feel that the bathroom lighting could be brightened up a little bit but that did not detract from an otherwise excellent dining experience. Vero is one of the few restaurants in Calgary with consistently high quality food and service. Our server was super nice and knowledgeable about the menu. 10/10 would come again...excellent spot for a romantic date night dinner.
Took someone out on a birthday dinner here! It was absolutely lovely. We came a little bit early for our reservation and were able to get a table right away luckily. Since we both weren't super hungry, we ended up splitting a salad, the lobster bisque and the lamb kabobs. Everything was absolutely delectable. And we're already planning our next foray back for more lamb kabobs. The meal was very fast to come to our table which was slightly frustrating because our kabobs got cold while we were trying the rest of the food. We also got lots of different drinks to try, I highly recommend the amaretto sour. It was perfect. It is a little pricey but I would say it's worth every cent
Love Vero. Second time dined in there. This time had the Surf and Turf tasting menu. Enjoyed it every bit. Lamb chop was super tender, same as the steak, both were seasoned very well too. The two dipping sauce came with the platter were tasty, not salty or anything. The size of the lobster tails in the mac & cheese were not that big but decent. Coconut prawns were in the salad, liked it. For the first visit, loved all the dishes ordered, especially the signature sweet potato gnocchi, a must try. Good service, romantic environment.
Finally try Vero Bistro! The lamb is so amazing ! The Lamb would get 10 star, so sad that I can only rate it 5 star. The pasta taste so good too, it’s a little spicy but make it perfect! The seafood was so so so good! I gonna bring my family come and try these food again! These food are so so so good! Everyone should come and try! Calgary 1st restaurant in my heart forever! By the way, the desserts are so tasty too , dark chocolate cake and mango cheese cake will impress you!
I absolutely love this place, their prices are reasonable and the portion sizes are good too. I was here 7 years ago and went back again yesterday, quality is still just as amazing. I would definitely recommend the pasta dishes and the wine here is not bad either. The service was fantastic and I loved the atmosphere, would definitely come back again.
Our first time visiting here! Started with a starter biscuit, it looked and tasted too fancy for me.. we order the 2 people meal, and got this summer special salad. It was the best salad I've had all my life!! And we ended with lamb meat, lobster pasta and steak! It was delicious except for the fact that I don't like lamb meat.. after we were done, we were able to take it home Their atmosphere was really nice to go for a date!!
Recently dined at Vero Bistro and cannot wait to return. From the moment I walked in the door I was greeted with such kind service that continued the whole evening. Being from the East Coast I was greatly missing seafood and was very excited to try the seafood platter. Every piece of seafood was so freshly and cooked to perfection. Also had the sweet potato gnocchi it was so good I couldn’t stop eating to take a picture Chef Jenny herself came to our table to have a chat as well which was so appreciated. 10/10 recommend Thank you Chef Jenny and everyone at Vero for such a wonderful evening
Incredible food and service. Well worth the money you pay for the quality of dishes and portion sizes. Chad was my waiter and he was super friendly, helpful, and was willing to take pictures for us. Pictures below: Sweet-potato Gnocchi with arugula and seared pork, surf and turf steak, lamb chops, lobster tail other one was already on my plate Would absolutely recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.
The venue is very lovely! The red wall definitely took my attention at first glancs entering the restaurant. The only main concern is that it was too dim. This restaurant is definitely more of having an intimate moment with the people you go with. The food was great, we got the Surf and Turf, we were on a good full from it. Lots of different taste we experienced from it! The photo shows the main course of the Surf and Turf. The pricing was fair. Service is great, since the restaurant is small, they're more likely to take care of you often than usual. I recommend if you're into fine dining to add this in your list!
Great food, service and atmosphere! Doesn’t look like anything on the outside but the inside is spectacular! The manager is very serious when it comes to making people’s experiences great with the fine dining and food. The service was very professional and takes in peoples suggestions to make the best quality food and experience for everyone. Great place for a fancy date or night out!
