Verda's Cakes & Things

I went in to pick up a few cupcakes for my husband's birthday. I had never been here before but went off of other reviews. The location is a bit hidden and out of the way. The store has some weird decor but if you're looking for cake or cookie decorating supplies this is the place. They had a small display case with a few cupcakes from what I could see. When I asked for a few the store clerk turned the light on to the display case (why not just always have it on?). There were about 6-7 flavors to choose from and each cupcake was $1.50. I got some vanilla, chocolate, and pink champagne. The cupcakes were good - a bit better than I could do with a box recipe - but nothing super special. The frosting was sweet and the cake was dense. In the future I will probably stick with Fred Meyer bakery since the quality is comparable and it's not out of the way in a sketchy looking neighborhood.

We ordered a 6inch cake (for wedding) and 125 cupcakes that were colored to match our wedding -yellow, dark blue, and white. Verda did an amazing job! She exceeded our expectations! All simple flavors but they were delicious! For the price, you really can't beat it! Especially paired with Verda's customer service and personality. She made the whole process -samples, order, pick up, etc- a breeze for us! Will visit her again for a large function where we need sweets! Thank you!

Verda did our cupcakes for our wedding last month (September). She was very patient with us as we tasted 9 different cupcake flavors weekend after weekend. When it was time for our 130 Star Wars cupcakes plus our bride & groom cake (which was the Death Star) not only were they want we anticipated, they exceeded what we anticipated them to be. The cupcakes were beautifully done, the flavors were sooooo good and the cupcakes and cake were so soft and moist! I can't wait to dig into our cake on our first anniversary. Verda - you did an excellent job! We thank you so very much from the bottom of our hearts! You are the best and you will be seeing us again! Shawn and Kylene Everett

I ordered my wedding cake from them last summer. Lets just say I was beyond pleased with the flavor and quality!!!!!! Me and my hubby went out there and got a dozen cupcakes to taste test. We picked raspberry swirl, red velvet and orange. They made the cake exactly the way we wanted it. Their price also can not be beat! They are just absolutely amazing!!!!
