Story

Nestled in the high end Terrazzo Plaza on East Paris Avenue, resides an unforgettable get away destination place we call Vasaio. The name Vasaio is borrowed from the Italian language meaning "the potter". With the interior in enriched botanical hues, to the organic essential oils that burn in our soy candles, Vasaio is sure to please the senses and ease your stress filled world.

I usually go near downtown GR, but I was getting tired of driving downtown. Vasaio is in a great spot, close to my home--it's a painless drive. That being said, I want to like this place, but...just...I can't. Not sure how to review this place. I walked out with what I wanted and my stylist was great. But the experience wasn't anything memorable. I wasn't offered anything to drink. What I thought was odd, since every salon I go to has offered me at least water. The exterior makes it like look the salon is stylist, fresh and hip. Nope. The interior was out-dated. Since first impressions are everything, how can I believe that the salon staff keeps up on hair trends if the interior is out dated? Also, I pay $40+tip for a haircut in downtown Grand Rapids that offers me a drink and is up to date and I remember how nice my stylist was to me. Sorry, I won't be back here. I'll continue to make the trek downtown.

This was my first time having a massage. I had the 60-minute Swedish Massage and it was wonderful! I ended up being a couple of minutes late because of an accident on the road and they were very kind about it. The facilities are very nice. They offer tea and water while your waiting or for after your stay. I enjoyed my experience very much!

It was my first time gracing this salon. There was a cancellation and they were kind enough to call to see if I'd like to bump up my appointment which worked out well. The front counter was pleasant and I was in and seated within minutes of arriving. As for the stylist she was very kind, listened to what I wanted but could sense some of my hesitation. So she offered some suggestions that in turn came out great!! I most definitely would return. Thank you Josie for a style that I've been complimented on many times today.

This place was incredible, until they denied me services by interfering personal life with professional. One specific individual enforced this and now I am no longer welcome at vasaio due to our personal issues. Horrible professionalism, and lack of customer satisfaction. Here is the message for everyone to see, "As we are all close with our manager here, I would assume that you are fully aware why your appointment was canceled. Markie and the rest of the staff here, do not wish to do any services for you. I'm sure that there are plenty of salons in the area that would love to take care of your needs."
