Lindsey from Design One one Plainfield is so talented! I like her because she's very honest about cuts/color that will work on curly hair/thick and what will not. She has helped me style my hair in a way that is better suited for its texture! I have had great stylists before but unfortunately they would cut my hair in a way that was not flattering for its type. Lindsey knows exactly what to do and will guide me in the right direction. She has also done wonders in the hair-coloring departed. I had very dark hair and she was able to make me close to blonde (over the course of many visits, gotta do it the healthy way!) and my hair is still very healthy! She also gave me great advice for taking care of my hair and what products she uses (she also has thick, curly hair). Plus, she's funny and easy to talk to! I would recommend her for people with any type of hair but especially for the curly-headed ladies. :)

Complimentary drinks , high end salon Staff seemed nice My niece and her friend had a down style, they both looked amazing ( great price) I would have given 5 stars but my father asked for a service, they booked the service, said a stylist would be out to get him within moments... 20 minutes later the receptionist said there was no one to do the service. My father is a burly man but sweet as pie. He went to use the bathroom and noticed several stylist available. He was very offended and hurt. Unfortunately it put a damper on our experience.

Wish I could give it No Stars! Tried it twice! SHAME ON ME! Over priced crappy color Never Again. Funny thing my first review was taken off. Do waste your money. If you want GREAT COLOR at a affordable price go to Shear Attitudes in Middleville, MI and ask for Cindy. Seriously 85$ for cut and color that looks and feels amazing. I paid 250$ here and it looked terrible. Twice with two different people. Never again.

I’m writing because just today I had yet another terrible experience at the Plainfield salon. Today I had yet again my hair hacked off by one of the employees I thought I could finally trust. 3 years ago I used to see a lady and the last time I saw her she had cut my hair to my shoulders when I had SPECIFICALLY asked for a trim. At that time my hair was nearly to my belly button. After that experience I was done seeing her and done with Design 1. I had found another stylist at another salon I liked but my mother said she had been having a very good experience with a different lady at Design 1. I was hesitant at first and finally switched to her after seeing her results. I have been going to her for about a year and a half now but this recent most visit I have yet again had my hair cut 4 inches when I had went in for a TRIM, (she has never cut more than half an inch specified by me) my hair was down to my belly button finally after the 3 years and now it barely reaches my chest because of today. I had just grown my hair to the length I’ve wanted badly since the first time an employee at Design 1 has done this to me. It’s infuriating how not only has this happened twice now, but I had trusted Design 1 and was yet again failed. I did not come in to pay over $200 and get my hair done just to have it hacked off and go home bawling yet again. I’m extremely disappointed and upset because of this experience because a years worth of growth is completely gone. I have emailed them and am waiting for a reply.

Prompt. Pampering. Gave me beautiful hair. Listened to me. Worked me in on short notice. No guilt for having gone someplace else for a while.
