This place is the bomb. Like really good stuff. Portion sizes are large. A bowl of soup with a side of bread will get it done. The bread? Tasty. On top of that it's a cute little place. The lemonade is the perfect mix of tart and sweet.
If you’re looking for a local restaurant that serves fresh, hearty food, this is the place for you. My wife and I both had different soups chicken lemon rice and Spicy Tia Chicken. The vegetables with both our soups were cooked to perfection and the the flavor was excellent. Plus both soups came with a hearty dinner roll. The atmosphere is modern but comfortable and the staff are incredibly pleasant and friendly. Vegetarian options: Several of the soup options were vegan friendly Kid-friendliness: Multiple sandwich options as well as soups Parking: Public parking on street directly in front of restaurant Wheelchair accessibility: Street level, tables with chairs
Delicious food! Sandwich was big enough for 2 meals. I only ate half and it was excellent. $12 fresh bread and ingredients. So yum. Fresh squeezed Lemonade. Super friendly staff. This place is great. More people should come here! Do ittttt
This has been my go to spot for the last six months as I’ve had extensive dental work done so what better than fresh soup! I’ve had a great experience almost every time however the one thing I’ve noticed is the inconsistency with the way the vegetables are cooked in some of the soups. The chicken noodle is one of my favorites but it seems it’s hit or miss if the veggies are cooked till soft or if they are still hard and raw. I’ve had the same issue with the French onion. The flavors are perfect I just wish there was a little more consistency with the way it’s prepared.
Had a large order catered. The quality of the sandwiches were sub par when compared to what they serve in the restaurant. The sandwich had huge bread buns, with one slice of American cheese with razor thin ham, something anyone could duplicate in their own home. Great place to eat, catering quality not so much
Experienced it my first time last week at the recommendation of a friend. Had the split pea soup and a serving of bread. Bread was much better than expected and was not just a piece of Wonderbread or whatever passes for bread at most restaurants. Split pea soup was definitely split pea soup but could have used some seasoning but it was nothing that a little salt and pepper couldn't fix. It was delicious when paired with the bread. The decor inside is a little lifeless but I enjoyed the giant wall of spoons. I would go back and try more soups and some of their sandwiches, which my friend ordered and recommended to me.
The soup is amazing! Freshly made everyday! I also love their Lemonade and Brownies. The brownies are made fresh by real pastry chefs. The Valpo Soup company is my new favorite lunch spot in Valpo. Large portion sizes with enough for two meals. I highly recommend.
First off service is amazing, some of the best in valpo. But the food is nothing special especially for the price. Rolls are dry and nothing great. Soup is good but always feels like it’s missing something. But the turkey pesto sandwich was pretty good. I would keep coming back, but the price of just getting soup and a drink is way too much. I’ll come back again to try the salad.
Absolutely delicious soup! We enjoyed sampling a few before we decided what to have. Mushroom, Chicken Lemon Rice, Butternut Squash, Spicy Peanut Stew Appreciated the friendly service and the fantastic food. Don’t sleep on the enormous brownies.
Such a great experience at this restaurant. The soups are homemade and so wonderful. The bread is so great and the dessert is to die for. I would highly recommend this restaurant. You have to also try the salads and homemade lemonade.Food: 5/5
