honestly, it’s tricky rating this supermarket. why? it’s the only actual supermarket in a huge radius and i guess they at least try giving their best. IGA supermarket tries offering some organic products, which i think is great. there is basic fruits and vegetables. also nearly all the real basics. nevertheless, salads kinda seem off/old and they do not have a good variety of groceries for veggies or vegans at all. it sure is difficult getting good products to the middle of nowhere, but maybe working closer to regional farmers? if it’s up to me i would give just two stars - as they satisfy basics needs it’s three stars.
Nice little grocery stores. Wish they would carry. All beef or all turkey pepperoni sticks for those who don't eat pork. Also wish they would have stewing meet. Other than that nice little place
Was standing in line at the till and the lady ahead of us said we could go ahead of her because she wasn't ready yet..the cashier told us to quit budding and made a scene in front of other customers..there must not be any other options for groceries in Valmount...quite embarrassing...
Well a small town grocery cashing in on inflation and the pipeline for sure,inflated and very limited stock you think with the prices they charge you would have better inventory stock!
The store is clean, has good signage, and has clearly laid out social distancing signs and flow. The cashier was wearing gloves. However none of the staff were wearing masks. Not even the young ladies in the deli that were handling our food.
Grabbed a few needed items during our recent trip. Had everything we needed. Cashier was helpful with some good local advice/tips!
Surprised this place hasn't been condemned. Think of an 80s IGA and then have a punk concert inside. It looks like it's going to come down on top of you. Also looks alot like a North Korean food store. Shelves are near empty daily. Spend that new found pipeline money and fix the place.
Very rude and abrupt staff every time I've been in. This is what happens when you're the only grocery store in town. I don't post reviews often, but wanted to warn people to make sure they have all the groceries they need before they get here, so they don't have to deal with this. Edit to add: The next time I went in, the clerk threw my groceries and they slammed against the backstop of the counter. Not sure why.
Was there adding a lotto system to a checkout lane. Jane was amazing, she knew everyone but me. lol She was great with customers and their children. Nice to see heart in a Small town supermarket.
Poor customer service while trying to have a conversation about two items scanned twice. I left the store unpacked my things when I got back to my room. Checked my receipt after I unpacked. Tried calling to rectify and was rudely interrupted with a bring back the items and receipt —- before I had the chance to explain it’s all unpacked she hung up. Rude to new comers, seemed to be giving locals excellent customer service. Maybe this isn’t an isolated incident. Check your receipts. This may have been only $9 but over time this amount adds up.
