Ustaad G

Food was decent at best. It was typical "reception hall" food. Dishes looked plain and simple as well. The service was pretty bad. The wait for food was almost 30 minutes. The wait for containers was brutal too. I had to ask the girl twice for containers. No smiles or anything. I doubt I'll return.Food: 4/5

The constant positive service at this Restaurant has allowed me to incorporate Ustad G into my daily routine. Very nice staff and great food, they always caters to my needs. Got discount on takeout without even asking. I am sure i will come back very soon.

The famous KULCHA was nothing like they advertised or post pictures on . It was the most tasteless and dry kulcha ever . Daal makhni and paneer was okay . Little pricey For a dried up small kulcha . Place was too dark and small .Not going there again

I came to Surrey from Toronto, its a must must try, everything I ordered here was perfect, things I ordered: 1 Amritsari Kulcha - authentic, loved it. 2 Malai Chaap / Grilled chaap - the pictures attached say it all. 3 Chole Bhature - pure Delhi’s taste. 4 Chilly Paneer with plain rice - spicy and flavourful. 5 Ras Malai / Gajar Ka Halwa - accurate level of sweetness and flavours. The staff here serves you the food with a very welcoming attitude and a biggg smile on their face that makes Ustaad G a perfect place to satisfy your desi pallete cravings. Lastly, good music..

Got the goat curry and chicken tikka masala, pretty good. The staff were very kind and knowledgeable and friendly. Had to wait 20 mins for a seat but overall had a good time and enjoyed the food.

Authentic Punjabi food taste. They have included a long list of vegetarian items. Visited in a hurry for a quick lunch. I enjoyed the food so much that I can't wait to visit again soon to try other things

Went there after the great food in kelowna but unfortunately we were highly disappointed. All that was ordered didn't taste fresh, the chicken kabob had a borderline smell that was an indicator of chicken gone bad. The rest of the curry and entree was not impressive....the lassi was good though. I hope it was one of the bad days of a restaurant, hope to go bad sometime to really know if that is the regular taste or once in a while incident.

Unfortunately we went to have some parantas today but we’re so disappointed with firstly the service! They are the laziest group of servers I’ve ever had to deal with! We had to wave down the server at least 6-7 times in a restaurant as small as this doesn’t make any sense! They are too busy chatting behind the counter and even after making eye contact with us as we waived at her she never came : The paranta plate is way overpriced for something that is not even a paranta..it’s a kulcha…they don’t even serve paranta! It’s $15 for 1 mixed “paranta” 1/2 ladle of raita and it oddly comes with channe or daal makhni! Hahahahah if you consider this daal makhni you should come to my house and try the real stuff! It was a tomato and cream soup with the a few little grains of daal and tasted literally like nothing..no tarka no spice no seasoning!!! The Chana bhatura comes with 1/3 of the amount of channe you would need to actually eat the 2 bhaturas you get. We were told after we were done eating and we addressed this issue that the channe were unlimited and we could ask for more..but that’s not stated anywhere on the menu! We ordered masala chai and it literally came out in less than 2 minutes..just barely warm and definitely not fresh at all! When I asked the server if it was old tea she agreed and then said let me check if it’s fresh or not??? What the hell?? So I ended up telling the owner who walked in at that moment and suddenly the staff became very active after seeing him! Ustaad g was pleasant and brought us more food which we did not ask for or have space to eat! He said he fixed the daal but he just added a lot of butter I top! And brought out a Naan not paranta stuffed with potatoes!! He did finally also bring us some fresh tea with pistachios-maybe the best thing he has to offer! USTAAD G please take your daal and parantas off of your menu and retrain your staff to check in on their customers rather than smile at them from afar! Won’t ever be going to any location ever again! The least he could have done after we waisted 2 hours in the restaurant is made at least 1 meal complimentary! Kanjoos makhi choos!!!!
