Reliably good. Portions, in my opinion, are quite hearty, with a near guarantee of leftovers for the create your own stir fry bowl. Plenty of options to mix in, including interesting sauces, and added heat for those who want it. Have been pleased with Lowertown location food and staff and while I have only done takeout they have a large, nice dine-in space.
The food is ALWAYS delicious! The service on the other hand is a hit or miss. I has curbside pickup tonight well let's just say I had to go in and pick it up MYSELF! I called inside 4X and they would NOT answer the phone! So WHY offer curbside if you really are equipped to run the food out? #annoyed
Ordered food 30 min before I got there, on 9-9 at 1020 pm, to pick up and still had to wait 25 additional minutes for my order. There were ZERO ppl in this restaurant. They either need additional help or figure out why it takes 55 minutes to make 4 entrees. No ppl coming in for takeout or delivery ppl coming in for food. Slooooowwwww as Heck. Totally not worth that long of a wait. Terrible!!
The food is just not my taste. If you have a sensitive palate to Asian foods that are not authentic, this might not be a good choice for you. I enjoyed the white rice alone, but adding their other ingredients did not seem worth the price. Their hot wings were good though I would go back for appetizers. Their potstickers were also good.Recommended dishesSesame Buffalo Wings, Chicken & Vegetable Potstickers
The food was amazing and the service unparalleled! I had a few billing problems from the pos system they used. Took out a wrong amount but I called with my concern and Mark the owner called me personally and took care of all he could! Problem amended and great business done. Thank you for caring so much! You don't see that everyday! Go eat at UrbanWok because the food is great and the customer service is obviously high on their list!
We love Urban Wok in Lowertown!! They use really solid ingredients and everything is made fresh. The whole family is happy! We enjoy the comfortable and casual seating but we order to go quite a bit too. The to go holds up nicely. The ownership is local and incredibly generous to the community…sponsoring music and art events. A true neighborhood gem. Kid-friendliness: My kids love the electronic/kiosk ordering options. The staff are friendly and welcoming to the entire family. Dietary restrictions: Several gluten free options and vegetarian friendly!
Urban Wok has nice portion sizes. The packaging is sturdy and practical. I really appreciate that they are open until 11pm, which is almost unheard of since rhe start of the pandemic. The three items I ordered Waikiki Surf & Turf, chicken and vegetable potstickers, and the udon noodle entree were all lacking flavor and salt. I will eventually return and try ordering something different because I love the portion size.
While my family greatly enjoys their food, the manner in which they take orders has unfortunately lead to their in-house service being relatively poor even as they remain a reliable delivery option. This was capped off with an unpleasant experience one evening where I placed an order while being told it would be 20 minutes only for a second employee to come out from the back shortly after and tell everyone in line they were no longer taking orders in house due to the volume of online orders. I was told my food would now be 45 minutes to an hour. I told them I would prefer not to wait that long and asked to cancel my order so I could find another place to eat. They told me this would be taken care of later that evening when their manager returned to close the shop. No such refund was processed. I'm currently working with my bank to dispute the charge. I hope they figure things out. It's unfortunate their online popularity has come at the cost of their ability to serve customers in-house.
Visited St Paul, MN and had the pleasure of trying out this establishment. Wait staff was friendly and helpful. Great food and large enough to have plenty leftovers for next day and it tasted just as good the next day. Yum!Food: 5/5
Ate here recently with a friend and still “stirring” over the experience. We had plans to use a $25 gift card and were informed of the “BOGO” deal for any stir fry bowl, and thought GREAT we will not need to spend much more than the gift card amount. However their ordering system would not apply this deal. When we asked about it, the staff assured us they could adjust the price on their end, and refund our card after the purchase was made. This seemed like a weird way to do it but whatever. The ordering and waiting for our food combined took around 30 min, and was still missing the potstickers we ordered. Figured they were running behind, no biggie. When we realized they weren’t coming, we asked to take the potstickers to-go. The person working said they were in the box. We dug around in our food and she said “no they were on top”. We told her no… they weren’t. A second staff member came and told us “yeah they were on top.” Again we said “but they weren’t.” Probably not their fault, and she did reluctantly go to get them for us. I also had to go back to the counter to ask for the refund and they said they were working on it. Later they came to our table with the receipt but we only later realized they did not refund us any money and just returned the gift card funds. From reading other reviews, we haven’t bothered to ask for any further refund. The BOGO deal seems like a scam to force people to spend more money in hopes they won’t bother pursuing a refund. And even if they do, the owners will only offer you another deal to go back and “try them again”, where likely the exact same thing would happen. Lesson learned- DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. Giving two stars feels generous but only because the food was not terrible.
