Terrible barbershop. I went there a few months back for a buzzcut and I was told it would be $20. As they were in the process of Buzzing my hair they told me if I wanted to do any fade on the side it would be an extra 16 dollars! Obviously I couldn't say no at that point so I went along with it. A simple Buzzcut with fade that takes maybe 10min costs 36$ and they have the audacity to ask for a tip. So guess what, I get home, have a shower and realize they missed several places on the back of my head. I quite literally had to go back and point out the places they didn't buzz properly. Instead of offering me a refund they told me "this is why we have a come back within 3 days for a touch up policy." How many haircuts do you have to mess up for that to be a policy!!! This place is terrible, they take advantage of their lack of competition in the neighborhood. If this business was anywhere else in Vancouver it would be closed. If you are looking for a better barbershop, go to Nick's, it is 1/3 of the price for a better haircut.Service: Buzz cut
We have Ben clients for over 5 years and had good experiences. Aside from being overpriced my son was happy. Today we were treated very poorly by the staff. They called to reschedule the appointment and I agreed; then they called and said we were late, which was not true. I told them we could be there in 5 but when we arrived they refused service and not only that, they were very rude to my 15 yo. Not only they made a mistake, they made us go there only to get mistreated. Needless to say we will not go back.
allowed the barber to have free reign over my haircut and i did not receive a mullet or bowl cut, so i am eternally grateful. thank you MattService: Long haircut
Went to this place after more than a year and was pleasantly surprised. I hadn't booked an appointment so they respectfully told me that they can't accommodate me that very minute. I told them that it was a bit urgent as a haircut was super overdue so they tried to fit me in within the next 90 minutes. My barber was Matt. He made me feel very comfortable. He was extremely focused and detail oriented. I told him that I'm not super worried if it's a bit shorter but he insisted that I get the freshest look. Unlike in other barbershops, Matt made small talk with me which was really appreciated. I didn't even realize that 30 mins had passed by. At the end, I was very very impressed with my haircut. The hot towel at the end was icing on the cake. I've been in Vancouver for 3.5 years now and this was my best experience at a barbershop yet. Yes it's a bit more expensive than the competition but the service is unmatched in my opinion. Will definitely return in the near future.
Had a haircut with Brennan at this place and quite liked it. Nice experience.
If you are a student at UBC. Go to Nick's Barbershop in Kitsilano. Great $15 haircut and really friendly people. Here my total comes to $37.50. In a friendly way I say "wow your prices sure have gone up since my last cut". The lady on the till somehow takes offence and says "no these prices have always been this way." I reply back "huh, well my last cut was a while ago, its probably been two years. The lady gets back at me in a condescending tone "i hAvEn'T bEeN hErE tWo YeArS". So I say "ok... well just wanted to say the price went up since my last cut.. here's $50." So not only are you getting just a normal haircut for $40, you also get to deal with their social awkwardness. At the end of the day, the only reason they get away with their prices is because they are the ONLY barbershop in the neighbourhood. Edit After owner's response: It's great that you respond to reviews to protect your shops image, but justifying my experience is impossible. You are asking students to pay $40 - $50 for an average haircut... because you can! I think my dad even got his haircut here while visiting town - it was $100+ with a shave and he said it was the worst haircut he's ever gotten! The point is.. besides your "tight ship, online-booking, etc". Your establishment is just another overpriced barbershop.Service: Buzz cut
Just had a year and a half of pandemic hair cut off! Well, not all off...Brennan's face when I asked for a 'Business Metal' cut, was priceless, as was the service he provides. Friendly, knowledgeable, and the hot towels are The Best!
I came here for my last 3 cuts my first 2 from Andries was decent but he no longer works there. Tried someone else today and it was probs the worst cut I've ever had. Didn't spend any effort and was finished in under 10 minutes which feels like a scam considering the price. Usually it take 30 minutes. Im giving up on this barbershop.
Great place. Great people. Professional. I had my hair cut with Zach and Matt. Both are great cool guys with excellent skill. Highly recommended
