Small place with quick service and fabulous food. The house made corned beef and hash was amazing! Friendly staff were very attentive but not hovering around the table.
This place has been a breakfast icon in the Kalamazoo area since I was a kid. Just went back this morning probably 25 yrs. later and it's still amazing! The food was absolutely delicious not greasy at all, I loved the menu items offered, the service was top-shelf, and the place was clean as can be! Definitely going to start coming back again!!
Excellent, friendly service. The homemade corned beef was awesome, but you really need to try the potato pancakes! So good with the applesauce!
My second time here. Local feel from all the regulars this morning. Staff is very friendly and prompt. Corned beef hash here is made in house and is excellent! Pancakes are delicious as well! Can't go wrong here for breakfast. If you are in town and need to place to do some business work or meet up with a co-worker this would be a great spot to come.
Went to uncle Ernie’s pancake house this morning. Had a good meal, with a good waitress, and even a good coupon. Went to pay, only to be told they don’t accept my credit card. An American Express. Not some off brand card. Nothing wrong with the card they just don’t take American Express. There isn’t anything posted anywhere in or outside the physical restaurant. They tried to tell us it’s posted on the window but when the young man greeting went to look he admittedly couldn’t find it either. All they have is some stickers of different type of credit cards. Now I’m sitting here embarrassed waiting for my mother in law to bring me cash. Google says 99% of US merchants accept American Express. It should be posted loud and clear! Took and nice breakfast and completely ruined it. Won’t be coming back here again.

I was on the hunt for a good breakfast joint to go to for a while now and I when I tried Uncle Ernies I was blown away with how amazing it was and was dead set on making this my primary spot for breakfast. I've been going here for a few months now and I have fallen in love with they're omelets , just recently though have I tried they're buttermilk pancakes which when they arrived at my table were HUGE I only ordered two but only managed to eat one plus some toast before I was stuffed and all of it came under $15.
I have been going here for about 6 years I always get the fresh corned beef hash and eggs. It’s absolutely delicious it’s not from the can. Today I got home with my regular to go and for my friend. It did not have onions or seasoning just by looking at it I knew it wasn’t right. First time I wasn’t satisfied with the order. I took the food and called them they apologized and said they’d have a new order for me when I got there. I was really impressed with the cooks customer service. He apologized again and made sure I knew that they were about having happy customers. He even said I could take the old food if i wanted because they were just going to throw it away. He didn’t hassle me or make me feel like I was the one that messed up he handled the situation perfect. If he didn’t I wouldn’t of been back. I used to work In food service for years In the kitchen and even as waitress. I know what good service is supposed to be behind the kitchen and in the front. I just looked at the bad reviews for this place. In uncle Ernie’s defense if you have a problem with your food and aren’t satisfied don’t be passive and just write a bad review. If you tell them your arnt satisfied…unlike like some resturants uncle Ernie’s will make it right.
Great experience with our breakfast, even with a large group of nine our service was quick and friendly. Food was well prepared and very tasty. Definitely will become a regular stop when in the area.Food: 5/5
The place was pretty well packed but we were seated immediately in a booth. The blueberry lemon pancakes special was very bright, fluffy, and perfectly sweet with a lovely kick from the lemon tart. We also enjoyed the 1/2 nash's hash special and recommend the corn beef if you enjoy the meaty flavor. Lovely service from Lisa, we will definitely be coming back again.
