I found this to be a very pleasant place to eat. The decor was beautiful. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. They were attentive without hovering. If you are in need, they have a large Gluten-free section to chose from. The dinner was a little pricey but for a special night out it was great. The meal I chose was the Northern Walleye. The baby back ribs were amazing! Everything was cooked to perfection. I even found a Martini I liked so much I had two of them. Children were welcomed. The staff went above and beyond to make sure both the children and adults were quite happy. I highly recommend this place to all.
Twigs served a delicious meal and their outdoor patio was beautiful and well hidden from the street creating a nice environment. They have a gluten free menu with a large selection that was excellent for my mother in law and this even included great deserts. We were staying at the cornerstone hotel and decided to go to Twigs restaurant as the reviews were very good and it is just next door to our hotel. Upon arrival, at about 6 pm, my wife and I requested a table for 2 empty tables were visible. However, we were told it would be a 2 1/2 hr wait. We asked if they would put down our name, and we would come back in 2 hrs. We decided to go a little earlier just in case a table for 2 opens, so we went back at about 7:00. We checked in again so they knew we were there, then told them we would be waiting right in front of them on the only bench. We noticed people showing up and getting seated almost immediately. However, we just assumed they had reservations, but it was happening way too often and randomly. So we sat and waited, then we realized it was possible to order to go, and orders were being processed in approximately 20 minutes as that is what the callers were being told. So we canceled our reservation at about 7:20 and made an order to go. We waited and watched as to go orders were placed on a shelf behind the register. Then, a newly arrived server approached us to ask if we were waiting for a table. We then told her we were waiting for our to go order. She then went back behind the register and located our order that had been sitting there for at least 15 minutes, as all the other workers that took our order associated with each other behind the counter! We requested ketchup, salt, and pepper, and we were assured it would be provided. Which was not included in our order. When we got to our hotel, I bit into a black rock in my baked potato! Lettuce on my burger was horribly old and soggy. My wife's fish was overcooked, dry, and cold, as was all her food. Our onion rings were cold and soggy, my pickle burger had soft soggy pickles, and the patties were slapped on the bun 3/4 off the bun it was just slapped together carelessly. we are very disappointed with the service #1 food #2. If you are from out of town, don't even bother.
The atmosphere is very warm & cozy. We ordered the Hot Rock for 2, which was a great value at $39. Comes with plenty of beef, pork, scallops & shrimp that you cook yourself on the rock. Chose 5 sauces...the pineapple bourbon BBQ sauce is divine! Also got 2 sides...sweet potato fries & garlic asparagus. Both were delicious! We will definitely return to this restaurant.
This place has amazing gluten-free options. The manager came to talk to us as we have done other food allergies and helped us be sure we would be safe. The food tasted amazing. Twigs has options that aren't commonly available in gluten-free like breaded fish and shrimp, ravioli, and onion rings and kids meals like chicken nuggets and grilled cheese.
We're from out of town came to Mayo clinic like most. This place very good food,service, atmosphere, and drinks. The upside pineapple cake drink was delicious! They only had one waiter when we went but not once were we treated rude or forgotten. Thank you never change! Ordered chicken Madeira side salad and my husband philly cheeseburger.
Always a fun dining experience. The hot rock is a fun way to experience a variety of food. The cheese cake dessert is amazing. Plus don't miss the wide variety of gluten free options. A great go to restaurant for those with a wide variety of food tastes.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: Yes
We made a special road trip to check out Twigs as the MN gluten free community was RAVING about it. It did not disappoint! While the gluten free burger bun was kind of gross, the gluten free sandwich bread was AMAZING! I would definitely substitute. The risotto cakes were too rich for us and were topped with a weird nacho type cheese, but the fried green beans frittes were DELICIOUS! I highly recommend the turkey apricot sandwich, and the fried pickle burger was great once I replaced the bun with toasted sandwich bread. BTW the gluten free menu is LITERALLY EVERYTHING ON THE REGULAR MENU except for the Reuben sandwich. WOW!! Also- everything gluten free is made in a completely separate kitchen than is only for gluten free items! So much celiac safety it’s ridiculous! In a good way, lol The decor was modern yet outdoorsy in a way that works. The outdoor seating looked like a gorgeous small garden. Our server, Denise, was awesome and very patient and kind with us as we took forever to explore the menu. And it’s right next to the Mayo Clinic! I would say if the menu looks good to you attached pics then it will be well worth the trip.
GREAT dinner. We arrived to a long line of people waiting outside. We were told it would be about a 45 minute wait. We asked if we could grab a drink from the bar and wait outside beautiful outside seating area but due to it being slightly misty and about 60 degrees, nobody was out there. She said absolutely and actually offered that if we wanted to eat outside she could seat us immediately. PERFECT! The outside seating area had umbrellas to keep us sheltered and even heaters we declined those. Our server was great and attentive, checking on us frequently, even though we were his only customers outside. Food was delicious. I ordered the polenta with a side pear salad. Hubby chose the hot rock with the steak and pork tenderloin as well as a house side salad. No complaints from us. The menu is HUGE so we will definitely be back to try other things. Thanks for a great meal.
What a great experience! The server was excellent. Did more for us than 95% of servers. We sat outside and loved the space and decor. Food was special... we got to cook our own food on the hot rock, which was great! The sauces it came with were varying and had great flavor. Overall, it was a must go if in town!
