One of the best cabins we lived ever! The place is well designed, equipped and maintained. Location is great, just about 5 minutes from town. Everything seems great. Beds are comfortable, rooms are neat and clean. The small heater inside the cabin actually is powerful to our surprise. Restroom is very clean, shower is powerful. We spent very happy days there and really want to come back for sure, highly recommend.
USA to Banff: we traveled in late September’22; very convenient location to camp and explore the area. Apple Maps had us turn left into The Hidden Ridge Resorts, you will want to stay right on Tunnel Mountain Rd to reach the campgrounds. We saw lots of people do the same. Signage everywhere seems to be lacking. We paid for a fire permit to have a fire which includes free firewood you will need a ax to splinter the wood. Bathrooms are large, heated and extremely clean mirrors, outlets and hand dryer. Showers: free with lots of hot water and private. There is also sinks and outlets here. Drinking water can be found in lots of spots and taste delicious. Be aware that there is a lots of train traffic at night and being in a valley, you can hear them at night.
Consider this campground an access point to most Banff attractions and downtown. It’s not the traditional campground with private sites. A place to park your RV rig, electrical hookup, clean hot showers and restrooms. From the campground, there is a transit system which takes campers downtown where other transfer buses can be used to reach most of attractions. Considering the volume of tourists, limited parking, using public transit is the way to go and nominally priced to ride.
Beautiful campground, great people at the front desk and excellent pricing for RV overnight parking! Quite a view! A little windy at the end of October, but lovely! Do it if you don’t know where to park your RV in Banff!
We winter camp here. With power, a small electric heater and heated mattress pad gives all the creature comforts. And if you take a site on the south side of the campsite, you get a great view of the mountains.
Absolutely lovely camp/RV ground in Banff. Huge pitches with hook ups and fire pits. Free wood which was a bonus other sites charged between 10 - 12 dollars. Beautiful scenery and plenty of trails to walk. Shuttle bus down into Banff free then a few dollars back. Hot clean shower blocks if needed. Wildlife roaming free which was a delight to see.
Great camping spot, even with not as much privacy on each site. Full bathrooms and nice showers, sani-dump and fresh potable water. Awesome views of the mountains!
Awesome spot with and awesome staff. Some sites face into each other so try to book and end site or one that faces out to the stunning views if you can. Electricity is a treat when you’ve been away from it. Showers are hot and clean.
Stayed 2 nights. Paved roads, nice site and dump facilities. Close to Banff center and a shuttle bus run by local transit goes through the park. It is free to go in to town and $2 to return. Depending where you are going in Banff you may need a transfer. Was a great service to have from the campsite.
It's modestly priced, with amazing views and very close to town. The campground is a bit unique in that you don't "pull into" the campsites but, instead, you "parallel park" along a very wide "road". So, while you're not right next to your neighbor like many commercial campgrounds, you might be just in front of one and just behind another by only a small distance. The picnic table and electrical hookups plus firepit, if you pay for one of those sites are then just off to the side of the road. In the winter, you might have to walk over a ridge of plowed snow to get from your vehicle to the power/picnic table/firepit. Being right in the town of Banff, cell service is very good. Nearby activities: Hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, snowboarding, bike and mountain bike riding, wildlife viewing Walkability: Trails and walking paths are everywhere.
