Magic in a bottle. I can't imagine wanting to be part of the social dinner scene, but this place models everything about relaxation, calm, and peaceful introspection that you could ever hope for. This easily fit into the top 10 places of the world to spend some time at. I know that sounds insane, but it truly represents the calm and peaceful attitude and location. There's plenty of options just down the road, if you aren't a fan of the cocktail hour and dinner time where you sit with the other guests. We enjoy a more intimate, less social experience. However, it seems that people absolutely love it, and return year after year. I believe you can have food sent to your room, however. Check ahead!

This is summer camp for adults, so many things to do, that although the room is perfectly appointed, you won't stay there long. Beautiful grounds, the staff is accomodating to the extreme and you will want for nothing. The dinner with other guests was a highlight for me, meeting people that if we were at separate tables it would be awkward to strike up a conversation with, and hearing thier stories was supremely fullfilling. Thank you to everyone at the resort for making this weekend AMAZING.

I would NEVER stay here again. The only thing that keeps this place afloat is the staff. Rooms are small and cramped, they are NOT private and the walls are paper thin. Dining is "family style" and extremely small and dated. The place setting as well as the seating itself is cheap, food is substandard and lack luster. There is ZERO to do at this " lodge" which is more like a tiny inn. Pictures are deceiving and not an accurate description of what it really looks like. The owner " Kyle" is overbearing and pretentious, actually lives in one of his own suite homes 3 months of the year and NAPS everyday ?!? (staff verified) He looks to be mid to late 30's comes off as a jock with big man on campus complex-not impressed. None of the food was fresh, all processed tasting, nothing is " freshly made" but the baked goods! No seafood or river caught fish??? Yet it's 12 minutes from the Pacific OCEAN and set next to the Rogue River!! The only reason this place is rated so high is from the previous, beloved owners and it's the only " resort" listed in the tiny town of Gold Beach. The drive back to the lodge is crazy and it's an hour just to golf, sight see or take on a movie. Highly over rated and over priced save your money and stay in town or better yet, in Brookings- no wind and beautiful.

A lovely place! Our room was up on the second floor and had a fireplace which made it feel very cozy. My husband loved their bed linen! Service was impeccable and personable but it's to be expected for a high end lodge. We hope to be back soon.
