Inn of the Beachcomber

Very "homey" room, clean and a nice big bed. Staff was super nice and helpful. And they recommended a great place to eat. It's a short walk to the beach. It was nice sleeping with the door open to the outside and hearing the waves crash...so soothing. We would definitely stay here again.

We've stayed here before over the years. Friendly staff, good complementary breakfast. Great ocean view. Rooms are a little dated. We were in room # 105 with Jacuzzi tub on balcony. Easy walk to the beach. All in all I still recommend it.

Rooms were comfortable with very soft fluffy comforters and memory foam on the mattresses. Electric "wood burning stove" heater which was a treat. Short easy walk to the beach. Moderate breakfast in the morning. My only issue was the inside pool was extremely cold and the nearby jacuzzi was extremely hot, both were unbearable to use. I would stay here again.

I stayed here in Feb 2017 and there were lots of problems including lack of hot water, a door that was repeatedly hard to open, and breakfast room that ran out of food. Also, there is a curb between where one parks and the room that is hard for someone with a mobility problem to navigate. The woman I spoke to about the problems was not really interested in making anything better. She said that no one else was complaining; however, the people in the room above me told me that they also had trouble getting hot water. I finally told the motel employee that these were her problems, not mine, since I was the person who was paying. I would not stay here again and do not recommend it.

I hate to write this terrible review but we have been staying at this hotel for the past 4 years for all of our trips to gold beach and after this last visit we will definitely not be returning! We have stayed in several different rooms before and have never had a problem or when we did they fixed it. However this is the most we have EVER paid for a room and it was by far the worst room we've ever stayed in and it was the most expensive we've ever paid. We walked in to our room that was very hot and the door was hard to open, walk over to turn the air conditioner on and it sounds like a tractor is running (no exaggeration) I gave it a few minutes to see if it would stop but nope! Then we step outside to find a big hole in the balcony that was covered by a small piece of wood not even nailed in. If I had our 2 year old he could have easily fell through. We go to take a shower and the vent is so loud and screeching it was worse than nails on a chalkboard. The room was very old. One thing it did have that was decent was they just put hardwood floors in so that looked nice. We are not ones to complain but I am 7 months pregnant, it was hot, and this was our last trip before baby and we paid the most we have ever paid there for the crappiest room! So, we went down and simply asked if there were any other rooms available and they said no. We listed all of our problems to who is actually the OWNER (Ted) and he said we'll just open the window and door and it should cool off. We could not believe he said that to us. We paid for a room to work not to "get by" he did not seem to care at all. So we went back down later to find him and the other worker there sitting in the breakfast room with a bottle of whiskey and beers and he is drinking the whiskey just straight (it was 11:00) we tell him and the other guy Scott how upset we are with this stay and the room and they offered a discount for the next time we stayed. Never once came to check out the room or comp any of it! We have videos of how horrible it was! So we complained to a lady in the morning and she didn't seem to care much either. She put in a "maintenance request" but didn't have the authority to reimburse any money or make it right at all. This is the hotel I used to recommend everyone to and I will NEVER refer anyone ever again! Nor will we return even for a "discount" their book is a lie when it says "if you have any problems we will make it right, we promise." They didn't make a single thing right! I wish it would let me post these videos. NEVER AGAIN! Horrible service now and super bummed about it.
