Travelodge Swift Current

I asked for an early check in for 1 PM prior to my check-in date. When I got there at 12:55 pm I’m guessing they probably weren’t prepared or didn’t realize there was an early check-in. Based off of the conversation, I overheard I heard the front desk person say well we’ll put her in this room for now. Once I got to the room and I seen all the issues. I think he knew he was gonna have to move me.nnThe first room the Mattress needed to be replaced it felt worn out. The chair felt worn out. The Locking mechanism to get into my room wouldn’t work with my key. I went to the front desk he offered to fix it. He had to go to the door on the inside of the hallway in order to access the room to get the door to work with his key. Once he was inside the room, he seemed to be trying to fix it, but it never really did work, he just left and said it will work. When I left to get a bite to eat I still couldn’t get the locking mechanism to work.nnOnce I came back and I still couldn’t get the locking mechanism to work I went back to the front desk and I told the person at the front that it didn’t matter what I did I couldn’t get it to work. He changed my room to a more updated room, it has a better mattress.nThe chair is better and the lock works.nnThe Wifi does not work and they have been unable to fix it so it works in my room. The 1 wifi that dis will is to far away for me to connect most of the time. The other one will not allow me to connect it just doesn’t work and they haven’t been able to fix it yet.nnThe day I went to check out, they forgot that I paid for an early check-in and a late checkout at 1 PMnnThey tried to come into my room at the regular checkout time at 11 AM while I was still in bed. I was able to stop them before they got into the room.nnBecause I had to use my own data because their Wi-Fi didn’t work when I checked out finally they did give me a bit of a discount because I had to use my own data.nnIt was clear they were renovating some rooms. I don’t know how proactive they are in renovations because the waterslide and pool area was completely closed for renovations plus there was other rooms that didn’t have curtains on that appeared that they were possibly renovating.nnDepending on how quick they are with the renovations, this could become a much better hotel but in the meantime, I would expect more for the price I paid

I was really impressed by the super friendly and courteous staff. The rooms were well appointed, and clean. The stay was a very good value for the money. Breakfast was continental. Coffee was fresh. I travel alot and stay at “last minute” places. The staff was very accommodating! Would definitely stay here again.

What I walked into was nothing short of a health hazard and a nightmare.nnRoom 118: The second we stepped in, we knew something was very wrong. The beds were covered in mold, and worst of all — the mattress itself had blood stains. Not just on the sheets, not just a spot, but actual soaked-in blood stains straight through the mattress like a crime scene from CSI. It was beyond revolting. Showers clogged with dirt etc.nnThe key cards never worked, no matter how many times they reissued them. Finally, after even the front desk clerk was disgusted by what she saw in our room, they offered to move us to Room 120. But the moment we stepped into the hallway, it was obvious: this was not a place for families, not a place for children, not a place for ANYONE. The floors were stained to hell, the smells were unbearable, and the whole building looked like it was collapsing.nnWe didn’t even last the night. We checked out immediately. The problem was that every other hotel and motel in Swift Current was fully booked, so we had to drive two hours away in the middle of the night, get three hours of sleep, then drive back.nnThey claimed they refunded my card, but the credit card machine is so outdated that it only processed an offline manual refund. Translation: I won’t believe a cent of it until I see it hit my bank.nnThe hotel looked abandoned — four cars in the entire lot. Honestly, it should be condemned. I’ve already reported it to contacts in the federal government and Health Canada and provided them with the videos and photos we took.nnThis place is a disgrace to the Wyndham brand. In fact, Wyndham should be ashamed to let their name hang on this building. Because of this one location, I will never trust Wyndham or Booking.com again.nnFinal Warning DO NOT book this place. The sheets were clean, no bugs. Both the evening and morning front desk were fantastic! The rooms for sure need an update! We wanted to turn on the AC but the cord was burnt and so we thought we'll we will open the window but there were no screens. The room was stained everywhere and had unfinished drywall patches. The bathroom sink was falling off the wall.nI really like that they gave us complimentary Dove shampoo and conditioner and soap.nThe price was very reasonable and they accepted our dogs welcomingly!nThe breakfast was small but acceptable. The pool area was closed.

Answered their phone when we called other hotels in the area did not. Friendly staff upon arrival. Rooms are in need of some repair however for the price it was very good value. Complimentary breakfast available. I would stay again when passing through.
