Cute little resto. Extremely attentive and friendly staff. We received complimentary bruschetta to start. Toasty and warm bread topped with fresh tomatoes, well seasoned. Calamari was lightly battered and fried perfectly golden brown. My friend and I were sharing everything and the server brought out two plates of veal Marsala each with half portion of meat, veggies and potatoes. I thought that was so thoughtful! Ended our meal with some coffee and tiramisu. It was a quiet night as we went on Monday evening but there were guests coming and going during our 2.5hr stay. One disappointment is that they don’t serve pizza as I was looking forward to trying some after seeing pics on Google review. Nonetheless, I’ll return to try other dishes.
This is the best Italian food in the West end. How rare, to say every dish - even outside your comfort zone - is utterly delicious. The award-winning tiramisu gets made in-house. Service is quick and friendly. When in Etobicoke, looking for Italian food without trying Trattoria Leonardo is a mistake. Leonardo's theme is "comfortable dining" - a Trattoria is the polar opposite to 'an expensive restaurant, with over-the-top attempts at a fancy menu'. Leonardo's interior design is almost like eating a meal at "your Italian grandma's house". It's not fancy, but it has a homely quality of warmth. Tables and seating is spaced out. The menu has all the Italian favourites you expect to see - with some house recipes you wouldn't. The wine and drink menu is simple... ...and, again, the menu is out of this world top to bottom. It's as if "your Italian grandmother", with all of those 'wow-tasting secret family recipes', is cooking for you - in generous portions, too. Soup. Salad. Pasta. Lasagna. Veal. Lamb. You cannot miss - they're all going to be heavenly. The service staff is amazing, too. Whether you eat fast or slow, you're accommodated. Your happiness is paramount. Even if you're walk-in customers, they'll fit you in and you'll get the same standards of care. Bottom line, Trattoria Leonardo is not just the best value dining for Italian restaurants in Etobicoke - it's one of the best Italian restaurants, period.
Authentic Italian food, friendly staff and old school vibes. Must go!
Very very delicious food. I loved it.
Great environment and service!! The owner takes care of everybody, always asking if everything is ok with the service. Their Lasagna is definitely a 'go to'!!! Love the Veal in the Today's Special Menu as well! Definitely recommended!
Amazing food and very attentive and friendly service. Also very authentic. Loved it!
What a hidden gem! Some of the best Italian food I have had outside of Italy. Their gorgonzola gnocchi is to die for. Great portion sizes and the wine is well priced. Highly recommend this place to anyone!
My husband and I found this gem of a restaurant while visiting the Toronto area. We try to stay away from chain restaurants as much as we can and find the local privately owned restaurants to try something different. This was a great experience, the food was excellent and although they did not have what I was hoping for on the menu, because we were there early and they weren't too busy, they made it for me and I certainly enjoyed it immensely. My husband really enjoyed his meal as well. The Cesar salad was fresh and crisp and the bruschetta, the best. The service was impeccable and right on point. This is a place to give a try and we will certainly go back when in the area again. 5 star or more in my opinion. We went again on the weekend of June25th 2022 and again the service impeccable, the food delicious, I can't say enough about this wonderful restaurant it is a place that whenever we are in town, will certainly have dinner there. It wasn't a fluke as the second time was as great as the first time. We had the bruschetta, which was complimentary and I ordered garlic bread with cheese to have with my pasta and wow, it was delicious. Great food, great service, friendly and attentive and well worth trying out. Can't say enough about this wonderful restaurant.
We called to get take out, at 8:20, 40 mins before closing and they immediately for no reason refused to serve us because they were closed yet their open sign is on and it closes at 9. I understand for dine in but take out??? Change your hours if you close earlier. Bad management.
Terrible service and the food was very mediocre. One waiter swore at us when he had to get another table ready, and the other one when asked what he would recommend on the menu, refused to answer the question! Not even in a polite way, he said he didn't have time as their menu is too big. Should have left right at beginning but was convinced I heard wrong. Was in shock about the horrible service and mediocre food. Speaks volumes that our Italians friend in the area had absolutely nothing good to say about this place. Would not recommend.
