Every time I go in, I deal with Irene and she is so knowledgeable and very helpful. I was quiet surprised to find out she wasn't the manager as I always see her there, helping customers, cleaning, stocking and always working hard. She is the only one I like dealing with as she is always a pleasure to deal with. Kudos for hiring such an amazing person!

I almost always enjoy going to total pet. People are friendly and knowledgeable, and always answer my questions without hesitation.

Here you can find 🐈 food, 🐕 food, 🎏 food, any pet related items you desire. They often have some form of bird to look at near the front counter, and there are bunnies in the back.

In truth if I could, I would give 2 separate ratings. For the staff of this store I would give 5 stars. But for the Manager of this store, I would give 1 or preferably less than 1 star. I have been a customer at the North Shore store for many years. The staff that works there now are absolutely amazing. They are friendly, very knowledgeable, and honest. I like to spend some time walking the store and checking out different product and looking at their livestock. In doing so I have been observing their Manager and I have myself been helped by him. He is what I call a Toxic Manager. He is extremely rude to his staff and just as rude to customers around him. He is not very knowledgeable and only seems to care about himself. Oftentimes he is never in uniform, as if he is deliberately trying to avoid helping customers. I have watched him on many occasion wandering the store aimlessly while there is a huge lineup at the front counter with one staff member trying to juggle ringing in customers and trying to answer another's question. I believe he needs some serious anger management. He also seems to be sexist and take out his anger on the women that work there. Unfortunately it's Managers like him that chase out great staff and bring in robotic ones that don't care about their jobs. If this happens, this store will probably just crash and burn. If Petvalu is smart they will take this seriously and review him, or better yet, remove him. I will remain shopping at this location only because I trust the knowledge and friendliness of the rest of the staff.
