Tokaido Ramen & Bar

It was a busy night and with 12 - 15 tables and only 1 server. The server also had to deal with Skip the Dishes, Uber Eats, Door Dash and regular takeout orders, including seating all guests who came through the door. Quite under-staffed. She was run off her feet, however, she managed to ensure that all guests had water at their tables and serve each table to the best of her ability. We ordered quickly and waited patiently for our dishes. Vegetarian options: California Rolls, Vegetarian Rolls

Fair warning, if you come to eat in be prepared to wait a long time for food. They looked very busy with Doordash orders and the like, but it was crazy how we were basically ignored for over half an hour after placing our order, which was when our appetizers finally came out alongside another table beside us who arrived later than us, suggesting they just prioritized app orders and then quickly pushed all of ours out. The ramen was unfortunately mediocre. I got the black garlic tonkotsu, which was rich but lacked actual taste/seasoning. I ordered a few pieces of sushi, and I'm glad I did. They were absolutely delicious and fresh. The few pieces I got saved this entire meal. The karaage was also very fresh and tasty. My suggestion is to just order sushi if you come. And also be ready for a long wait, this is definitely not the place for a quick bite, but if you order the sushi you'll probably leave satisfied.

Very tasty! A good variety of items are available in the menu. The food came hot and savoury very fast. The chicken karaage was perfect. I tried the traditional tonkotsu and the ingredients blend in perfectly together; nothing too overwhelming. Everything was clean and the atmosphere is very relaxing. Will definitely come back :

Had a good clean lunch here. Food came really quickly and the server was friendly and helpful. Large space with lots of seating. The interior reminded me of a bar more than a ramen or sushi restaurant. Lunch special was a good value.Recommended dishesTonkotsu Black Garlic Ramen, Soft Boiled Egg

We came here for lunch and got the black garlic tonkotsu ramen it came with chashu rice and the Hawaii donburi. The ramen's broth was on the bland side, lacking flavor. The salt level was OK. The ingredients/fixins were a good match for the dish and were tasty. The chashu rice was too much rice for the chashu given and many pieces were just fat. The donburi was heavy on rice and was not balanced. The sauce was sweet and did not have other flavors to compliment the dish. The service was attentive and they were very friendly.

Overall good food. I was a bit disappointed with the creamy vegan ramen. The taste was very subtle but I prefer a bit more flavor to my ramen. I wish they had more vegan, vegetarian or even pescatarian ramen options. I was impressed with the huge size of the house rolls. Never seen anything like it in my life!

Came here for lunch on a Saturday for the first time. There are many options on the menu, from ramen to sashimi to nigiri sushi to rolls. We ordered Half a Dozen Oysters, Black Garlic Tonkatsu Ramen, Scallops Sushi, Stampeder Roll, and the House Special Roll. Everything was great but my favourite was the House Special Roll. It's so big you can't finish in one bite and has lots of filling. I like how the rolls aren't overwhelmed with sauces. Service was good and quick. Our server was quick to clear dishes away. There is great value of food with the prices. We will definitely come back to try out more menu items. Highly recommended. Vegetarian options: Avocado rolls, cucumber rolls, etc. Parking: Lots of parking in front.

Went there on Sunday because of the review. We ordered three ramens. The black garlic soup is bland , no taste at all. Very disappointed is the fish on sushi, is not fresh. And when u use chopsticks to pick up a piece of sushi, it went broken. Only the edamame and the tea are good. One Server is okay. But very busy.Food: 1/5

My favourite place for ramen and sashimi in Calgary! The ramen broth is so delicious is doesn’t taste fatty like most other ramen places in the city, instead it’s balanced. I love their spicy miso ramen!! We usually get the 6 pieces of tuna and salmon which melts like butter in your mouthnot once it tasted fishy, and once you try the thick sashimi cut you won’t be able to go back to thin slice. I love this place and if you haven’t had a good ramen yet you must give this place a try.
