My Husband and I tried the Wooden Spoon for the first time for his birthday brunch last week. Food was excellent!! I had the Forager Benny SO good and my Husband had the Pulled Pork Hash. We both got mimosas to drink. We loved the interior and vibe. We were seated right away when we arrived for our reservation. I am giving a 4 star due to the service it wasn’t bad but wasn’t the greatest and the mimosas could look a little nicer with a garnish and/or different glass. I definitely recommend the Wooden Spoon for some yummy brunch and will go back!
What a wonderful place. Great location, amazing interior and polite staff. I wonder how I haven't been here yet. They have good menu and various food choices for vegetarians, non vegetarians and vegans. I had their vegetarian bowl, that was yummy. Parking could be an issue on busy day but there are various pay parking. Staff is very polite, smiling and offers generous support. I would highly recommend this place to everyone! I am gonna visit again...
Randomly stopped for brunch on our way home to Seattle. Loved the food and the atmosphere here. Girls working here were super nice and friendly. Will definitely stop by here again if we're ever in the area again.Food: 5/5
First time eating here and I ordered the Country Breakfast brunch. The potatos especially the skin tasted really good and savory. They were extra crispy and seasoned well. The bacon and sausage were also good and had a maple flavor. Upgraded my meal to have french toast which was also well worth it. Place was very busy and had long wait times on Sunday up to an hour so I'd definitely look out for that.
It was nice to visit Wooden Spoon today. They have great menu and staffs were very kind. French press coffee was amazing. My daughter took some great pictures so I wanted to share with you guys. I am more than willing to revisit Wooden Spoon later.
I really enjoy coming here. One of the best spots for brunch in the South Surrey / White Rock area. The food is delicious. Lots of healthy options. And a ton of savory or sweet not-so-healthy options, like poutine pictured and French toast. The restaurant is clean. The service friendly, but over-worked IMO. It’s a small and popular restaurant. There’s a rotating door of customers with only so much space for staff. The servers absolutely hustled the whole time we were there. Impressive but service was left wanting in the area of attentiveness. That said, I will be returning because they are kind and they do care - and the eats are worth it. PS: parking can be found out front or in the back lot.
The place was bustling on a weekday morning. Thankfully we had a reservation and were quickly seated. Service was quick and courteous. We had the Nan Toast and Cajun benny. So glad to see such a customer focused restaurant. The reservation system was monitored to answer questions. Will gladly return.
We were out at White Rock last weekend as it was sunny and we wanted to enjoy the sun, view and go for a walk along the pier and promenade. We originally wanted to go grab some Greek food but the restaurant wasn't open, even though their sign says they are. We decided to come here as we were hungry. We were seated right away. The place is a nice quaint little spot, just off Johnston Rd. Our server was efficient, easy-going and had good recommendations. I got the farmhouse breakfast and my wife got the pulled pork hash. The food was good, her hash had lots of flavor and the pork was tender. What can I say about my plate, it had your typical breakfast items: eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, potatoes, etc.
Neighbourhood breakfast joint, open from 9 am to 3 pm only! Must reserve a table, as this place gets busy easily. We ordered vegetarian Hash, the spoon huevos and the sweet and salty. Food was good, however coffee was only good for first cup, by the time you finish your first cup the remaining coffee in the press machine is cold Pleasant servers, good food and feel local ambiance!
Wooden spoon is located in downtown, White Rock. Its around 45 minutes far from Vancouver and one of the best options for breakfast and brunch. ⏱ Waiting time on weekends is around 45 minutes. I suggest you to book even on weekdays. ‍ The staff is friendly and try to provide optimum level of service. Your order is prepared rather fast which is a good feature specially when you’re hungry Food recommendations: * Definitely order one of the items from “Cast Iron Crushables”. Served in skillet ** Order one from the Brunch menu. If you like sausage, go for farmhouse breakfast. The Press Coffee is mild and tasty and its worth trying. Enjoy!
