Classic old Hot Springs Resort. Lots of different lodging options some are really really inexpensive. All come with a free access to the thing that draws people to The Symes for years the excellent hot water pools! Great place to soak they also have a restaurant, gift shop and lots of historical pictures throughout the hotel be sure and stop in and stay for a bit. Always other interesting and fun guests here. Not much for the beer selection though mostly domestic you might want to bring some of your own.

My husband and I have stayed here a few times. The most recent was that 24 the of September 2017. My husband called and made a reservation. When we got to the hotel, the woman at the front desk was rude. She gave us out total. My husband asked if that was with the military discount? She said no. I didn't know it was wrote on on the sheet. He said ok well can I get the military discount? She continued on saying she didn't know anything about it. Finally got it worked out. We get to our room. It has a heavy outdoor if urine. I went down stairs told the front desk she said it was from the water. We stayed in other rooms before and didn't have that smell. I asked her if there was another room and if it could be down stairs. She switched us. We go to our room no awful urine smell. We changed and went to poke. Later on when we got ready for bed, the bed was very loud. Not realizing the bed was a full size not a queen. We are not small people. We are so tired from the traveling and soaking we just want to sleep. The pillows were paper thin. You could feel the bed springs pushing into you. At 2 in the morning we could hear someone having up a lung for awhile. Any time we would turn over in the bed it sounded awful and the bed was small and uncomfortable able. We won't come back to stay.

Food is great. The water is sublime. The laid back atmosphere is really nice and lends itself to a relaxing place to let go! My family has been coming here for 40 years. Here’s why only 2 stars: Over the past few years it has gone downhill so much, we aren’t going anymore and have been seeking other options. The management needs to step it up a notch. Basically, the pools are so dirty it is disgusting most of the time! There have been at least three times we’ve made the trip and couldn’t get into the water it was so gross. Basically, skin cells, scabs and other human parts like hair and toenails floating everywhere in the water. It is really terrible. We love Symes and hope they will either get new management and clean it up or just wake up and get their act together!!!

This place is tucked back behind the town but once you find it you'll know it. It was definately built back in the day but they try to keep up on the outward appearance. If you're looking for fancy this isn't it but if your looking for that happy, fun, interesting place puck this one. I go there often for a good soak and unique conversations with strangers. The water has a slight sulfur smell but the different temperatures of the outside pools are sooo nice. The walls are thin and the beds are creaky but I wouldn't have it any other way. I love this place yet I know it's not for everyone. The food, bands and beverages are good too.

The hotel has a huge potential if rooms/houses were remodeled. It's a great location, just needs some TLC. Also, people shouldn't be allowed to smoke right next to the pool that's filled with kids. Pool rules aren't followed, people bring and drink alcohol, get drunk and act dumb. Staff doesn't follow up with its own rules.
