As soon as you walk in, you’re hit with the enchanting aroma of the scones baked fresh every day. Cute, quaint little corner cafe.nI inquired about the employees favourite scone and topping, she recommended the Herb and Onion scone with the Cucumber & Cream Cheese with mango chutney which at first bite, seemed a bit dry to me, but as I kept eating, the cream cheese and cucumber perfectly balanced the scone. My one note is that I would have loved the scone warmed up slightly to help with the inherent dryness. Also, a warm scone next to a cooling cucumber and cold cream cheese would be MAGICAL…Easy fix for my next visit! Espresso was just OK, tasted slightly burnt or over roasted.
All of the scones are delicious. Great variety. I personally prefer the savory ones while my partner prefers the sweet ones. The lemon poppy seeds and the cranberry ones are delicious. Love the frozen option so that we can have fresh baked ones at home.
Accidentally found this amazing place. We ordered lemon poppyseed scone & eggwitch with herb & onion scone, they’re both good! Even the lattes are good definitely will come again if I visit Ottawa!
Just went today for the first time after it was recommended to me by a few friends. The scones were delicious! I got their vanilla cream scone with their devon cream on the side and it was soooo yummy. I also got a vanilla latte which was great and their chive and onion scone to go! Great place, friendly staff and great atmosphere! Definitely recommend. I need to try their scone sandwiches next time- the pesto BLT one sounds great.
This SconeWitch on Beechwood is a real hidden gem. My wife and I order takeout almost every weekend, and occasionally dine-in with friends. The Scones on their own and the classic SconeWitches are all great, but we LOVE ordering the eggwitch as a light weekend breakfast/ brunch option. Available until 11am and can be made vegetarian if requested.nnThe staff are always friendly, especially the manager Pat who always goes above and beyond. Would definutely recommend this spot!
