The Royal Exchange

Came here for a work event during lunch and had the butter chicken pizza and Caesar salad. Nothing to write home about for the salad, but the pizza was bad. I shared the pizza with a friend, so it was gluten free. The crust is so hard and burnt it was black, not really edible, see attached photo. Flavour was okay, it reminds me of butter chicken but just barely. I was just in Italy, so standards for pizza is a bit high right now, but the friend I shared it with also agreed the pizza was terrible. Service was fast at first, but the waitress never bother to go around asking if people needed refills for drinks. We were a large group of people 10+, so there were a lot of empty glasses that needed refilling.

The ambience of the restaurant is pleasant, and they offer a decent selection of drinks. However, I was disappointed with the quality of the food. I decided to try their tuna poke, but unfortunately, it lacked tuna and was quite bland in flavor. Overall, I dont recommend this place if you're looking for a satisfying meal.Food: 2/5

Been here a few times. This is a great place to meet for Lunch. Nice atmosphere, quick service, and most importantly, good food. Salads are fresh, the Club sandwiches have plenty of chicken and are very filling. Definitely recommended.Food: 5/5

Awesome place just steps from my office, excellent service, we ordered burgers and they were delicious and the best yam fries ever!! We had been here before for a company event and it was absolutely amazing, food never disappoints and also the service is always great! I highly recommended!

Nice place for afterwork hours meeting . Decent snacks which are heavy on salt warning prompt friendly service . The place can get quite noisy though. Worth checking out if one is downtown.Food: 3/5

Great, prompt service over lunchtime. The food was tasty and reasonably priced with a good selection of mains, sandwiches and appetizers. Several gluten free options including a seared tuna on risotto that was delicious! Wheelchair accessibility: On the main level of View Valley Square, many tables are bar height so wheelchair seating may be limited.

Was hoping for good food and a quality experience considering it's in the heart of downtown. Food quality was .5 out of 10 only reason we stayed was our server was excited to be working and on point. Reminds me of a VLT bar, regulars holding court.

Pepperoni pizza checks the boxes. I've ordered it a few times and it's consistently good. Smokey old fashioned is always good. Smooth with a hint of smoke. They are consistent here and I never leave disappointed

I gave two stars because I enjoyed the environment and the waitress was helpful. The food I had was not good. I ordered one of their bowls. The rice in the bowl was cold as were all the vegetables. I had ordered chicken as an add on, which did come hot. The combination of the textures, with the hot chicken and cold rice missed the mark. The avocado in the bowl was also not fresh. The worst part of my experience was that the server wanted to bring the manager over when she heard the rice was cold, but the manager declined.

Had a terrible bartender named Michelle who was rude and unapproachable. Never dealt with such an inhospitable hostile gathering that turned the clientele away. Absolutely disgusting behavior on her part, I'm surprised she has a job! Food was good but served was terrible.
