At The Rocky Mountain House, we offer an excellent full menu for the whole family, whether you are looking for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We have a
fantastic variety of delicious meals to satisfy your taste buds. The Rocky Mountain House is the largest restaurant in the Ottawa Valley.
If you are looking to reserve an intimate dinner for two, a birthday party, shower, private meeting, anniversary,
stag and doe or even a wedding dinner, we can accommodate you. We offer the
same full menu in The Crown and Kilt if you prefer to sit on the pub side, with live
entertainment every Friday evening, or relax with drinks on our gorgeous patio.
For all of you golfers out there, we offer stay and play golf packages with 4
different courses to choose from. We have something for everyone, hope to see
you soon!

The good: the food. It was …….decentnThe bad : OMG it was horrible. The place had no A/C. It was absolutely stifling inside and we had to give our waitress several hints to at least turn on the overhead fan.nShe wasn’t even sure how to do that and had to ask for help.nIt was evident from the onset that she was either new or clueless!nI’m going with a bit of both !!nThe ugly- It took for ever to get drinks, we sat and watched our drinks sit in the bar for 10 minutes before she could serve them. The bar tender who was 5 feet away could’ve helped but chose not to.nAs mentioned the food was decent but when it came time for the bill group of 9 she completely lost track of who had what! I mean completely! After waiting in The heat for almost 40 minutes to get the bill and several attempts on her part to ‘straighten’ out the bills my wife had to go up and pay for everyone’s because waitress was unable to figure it out! All the while the bartender stood around doing nothing and the manager sat outside on the patio. At any rate… will not be going back there any time soon!!!
While sitting for a take-out order, a couple with three children entered and waited to be seated as per the signage. They left after three or four minutes. Another couple, similar scenario, also left. Our order arrived and was taken home. The schnitzel were good, but the sides, especially the mashed potatoes, were small. My wife had apple pie while we were waiting. For the price, the portion was small, the apple filing lacking and served cold.
I come here for breakfast from time to time and everything is always really good. Also came for a chicken club sandwich one day which was delicious! Portions are always generous, staff is friendly, and the place is clean with a nice patio as well. Definitely worth a visit!
Just drove in from Toronto came here with two friends for supper at 8 o’clock. Thursday, June 13. The two ladies had Cobb salad, which looks amazing and they said were fantastic. Lots of veggies as advertised which were all very fresh. All the other ingredients that were on the menu were in the salad as well. I had the Salisbury steak. It was fantastic. The potatoes were great. And the carrots were in abundance. Strongly recommend the restaurant. Sat on the restaurant side and the decor is beautiful.
The Rocky Mountain HousennUPDATE: After posting on social media about my issue I have still received NO response but instead they have blocked everyone who has left negative replies about their experience on my review. So they could take the time to block people from viewing their social media page but no time to right their wrong on my experience.nnWe called you 15min after picking up our order, you provided no apologies simply took name and number and said we would get a call next day.... It has now been 72hrs and you still haven't reached out to make it right, and this is where bad reviews are born.nnSaturday evening we ordered takeout for supper.n3 meals, totalled about $95. We were advised it would be about an hour for pickup. Which seemed long but it was saturday at supper hour so presumably busy and potentially short staffed based on many recent ads looking for staff. Upon arriving for pickup there were only 3 tables, otherwise the please was empty, so not at all busy.nnWhat we ordered:n-LG schnitzel w/ spatzle $27 + $2.69 upchargen-Extra side of mushroom sauce unknown pricen-Seafood Pasta $29.99n-Reg schnitzel w/ mashed and gravy $19n-LG order of coleslawnnWhat we got:n-LG schnitzel w/ mashed and gravyn-Extra side of Mushroom saucen-Seafood pasta with some sort of white sauce rather than the advertised rosé.n-Reg Schnitzel w/mashed and gravyn- 2x 4oz containers of coleslawnnBuns and coleslaw used to be complimentary with any dinner entree but it is now an upcharge of 3.50 for a 4oz container of coleslaw and a bun. Which is fine, I get that inflation is insane. But presumably we were charged 3.50x 2 for coleslaw that was NOT crispy, it was like mush, it was hotter than our meals themselves and tasted very strongly of cholrine. I bet it only costs $3.50 to make a 5gal pail of coleslaw LOL and we got NO buns.nnThe meal that included the upcharge for spatzle came with mashed and gravy. The mashed potatoes we very undercooked as they are a chunky mash and the chunks were still hard and tbh they tasted HORRIBLE. Also, considering one meal was a regular and the other a latge, both our schnitzels were the same size so I am unsure if we both were given larges or regulars, but something wasn't right.nnThe seafood pasta is advertised to be shrimp and mussles in a rose sauce but it was not the correct sauce, which I HATE white sauces. I am a rosé all day girly lol. The ONLY benefit to this meal is that it was advertised to have 2 types of seafood but actually had 4 types of seafood, however that seems like it would be not a fiscal change for the business at all and also not as advertised.nnI also cannot even determine what we were and were not charged for as we were not given any form of a receipt.nnI really gave you the benefit of the doubt to right the poor experience but not only was the food terrible but evidently the customer service has also gone out the window.nnMight be time to pull up your socks or simply shut down because it is obvious there is a massive lack of care for your business' future AND loyal customers.nnI am VERY sad to say that I will NO longer recommend or eat at this restaurant.
