The Ridges Sanctuary State Natural Area

My wife and I love this place, there are plenty of trails to keep you wondering for hours. Mosquitoes can be had in the summer. We found this place is perfect in the fall, winter or spring. Lighthouses are cool, the history behind the place is awesome. If available grab a pamphlet or go to the main building and ask about it. They have a beautiful area that has it's history on the walls and a nice little gift shop. There is a fee for going on the trails but what they have done with the trails is awesome. They have professionally built planks that line a decent portion of the park trails and they are in the process of upgrading some of the older wood that is getting bad. There are some areas where my wife and I sat and watched for almost an hour, it's pretty beautiful there. Definitely a must see when you go to door county.

Great place to walk around the grounds. Volunteers were very knowledgeable about the area.

Great place to hike and snowshoe. Definitely worth the drive.

Very peaceful, and squirrels can be seen on the trails, about a foot from the walker.

Awesome for kids if all ages, cheap and very educational!
